Way to go lady cougars! While you were hitting 25 of 31 free throws, the men's team hit 9 of 17 until the last 30 seconds of the game, and ended hitting 13 of 21. That's 83% to 62%. To be comparable, the men would have hit 17 or 18 of 21, and would have had many more than 21 shots, as St. Mary's would have been forced to foul over and over in the last couple of minutes.

Which brings up the burning question, how come the women shoot free throws much better than the men? It's an unguarded shot 15 feet straight in front of the hoop. If you hit the front rim, the shot will often bounce in or hit the backboard and roll in anyway. Yet the men's team shoots in the 60% range, despite Haws and Halford shooting over 85% - which shows just how BAD the rest of the team is! Kudos to the ladies for being better at it! Way to go on an absolutely GREAT win against Gonzaga!

Way to go Cougars!! They are fun to watch. Lexi and Jenn form a dynamic one-two punch. Lexi kind of reminds me of Kyle Collinsworth with her ability to handle the ball and get to the rim only she's able to hit her FT's when she gets fouled. This was a great win for them and it shows they are gelling at the right time.
