@ RollDon't be a troll. No contradiction to anyone with
objectivity. People detest BYU the way they hate Notre Dame. Or the Yankees.
The difference is those programs have done something significant since the dark
ages. BYU hasn't. When was the last time BYU was mentioned on ESPN as a
national power? Do your homework. I'll wait for an answer.
@ DownPlease. You embarrass yourself. Google this chain: Sports
Illustrated BYU Football hated. You get a hit from a 22 year old article. Do
your own history. I have two kids who work for me currently that played D1
football, one at TCU and another at SDSU. Both said BYU is still detested for
it's arrogance; however, now there is nothing to be arrogant about. Get to
a MAJOR bowl once every 20 years and then potificate all you like.People schedule BYU for two reasons: 1) They think they can beat you; and, 2)
BYU is controversial and controversey sells tickets. In the same way, the
Dallas Cowboys are controversial, despite their lack of success since the early
'90's. Games against the Cowboys are sellouts. People still want to
see them get their butts kicked. ESPN does not LOVE you, they are using you to
fill up a a time slot. The BYU fan base is not as big as you seem to think.
SwampYour assertions about BYU football are contradictory on their
face.If BYU has indeed been one of the most detested programs in the
country for decades as you assert, then the program is characterized by
notoriety over a significant period of time...that's the antithesis of
irrelevant. You've said, in essence, no one knows or care about
the program but just about everyone hates it. Huh?
Swamp,And how do you know that BYU is the most detested in America?
Please show us some data to back up your absurd claim. It's funny how a
detested team would have the respect of ESPN and are willing to risk their
reputation by airing their football games. Why would Notre Dame, Texas, and
the like schedule games with the most detested team in America? Do you know you
sound pretty silly right about now, right?
Night games are fine. Drink your Mountain Dew, Coke or coffee and quit whining
about it. @ DuckYour comments about Utah football are
hilarious. You do realize that BYU is one of the most detested football
programs in America and has been for decades. What is REALLY hilarious is how
relevant you think your program is. Utah and BYU are in the same small boat -
no one back east or down south cares about either one. Give me the SEC or ACC

playing games on the Sabbath."buster:I'm sure
Larry Scott is grateful that y "fans" are confessing his sins for him.
"U of O is unstoppable."?:Just ask Stanford and
Arizona . . . Ouch!
"Personally I like night games"Ducky:It's a
good thing, too, as your cougs continue to enjoy a steady diet of 8:30 kickoffs
on Thursdays and Fridays in November against mid-major competition so the
Mothership can fill time on the Ocho.
As I said earlier, living in the midwest I haven't missed a game, football
or basketball all year. Thanks for checking, though.
DesNews Moderatr StGtoSLC,And how many games did u play on any network? And yes $11/month is TOO much to pay to watch utah football.
Gone fishin/Down under/Ute buster, if $11/month for a ports package with the
PAC-12 Networks that many people would get anyway because it also includes
channels like ESPNU, ESPNews, ESPN Classic, NBA TV and NFL Network, is
"paying dearly" for you, I feel sorry for you. I also feel sorry that
you'd have to miss so many Cougar games, as three were played on ESPNU and
one on ESPNews (who knew they even played live games??) this year.
CB, Pretty liberal interpretation and twisting of His words, don't you
ekute,Do you mean odd teams like Notre Dame, Texas, Wisconsin, Boise
State, Georgia Tech, Utah State, and the most odd of all Washington? And no you
don;t own any pac team and never will.
Down under makes a good point, if you want to watch a team play odd teams during
odd hours, watch byu tv.Duckhunter,I don't know why the
rest of the Pac 12 would dislike and disrespect us, we don't own them yet.
Ute buster,And there is nothing wrong with "Sabbath" games.
God has never said don't play sports on Sundays. Its a great way to spend
time with family and friends.
Either rain or shine, snow or hail, Thursday nights or Saturday noonday, ASU
will dominate Utah as they have since 1978.
CB,I would not count out Sunday games. I am certain that the pac deems
themselves equal to the NFL and can compete for viewers even though the pac
network is hard to find and if you can you have to pay dearly. You may have
noticed that the pac officials do not have any problem with playing games on the
uteology,Ducky may be closer to the truth than you know. In other parts
of the pac u are hardly mentioned and never feared. Just sayn'. You
should get to other parts of the conference more often for an accurate picture.
Brave Sir RobinSan Diego, CA@????"My Ducks
will continue to run it up on unworthy members of the conference..."You spelled "Cougars" wrong.Come on man. when is the
last time BYU ran it up on anybody. They are better on average then the +2ers. U
of O is unstoppable. That is what happens when you have good alumni. U of O
When no one watches anyway it really does not matter. Most people don't
even have access to the PAC network and Utah gets few if any games anyway. Now
if people want to watch college football on the major sports networks they can
watch BYU all season long, plus they will get to see a quality bowl-bound team.
I wish they would add some Sunday games. I know it wont happen; I'm just
not as big of an NFL fan as most people. Sunday games would be great. I love
them in basketball and it would be fun to have Sunday football games too.
@ekuteI know enough fans of pac12 schools to know what they think.
Not to mention some come here and post, like ????, and the automatic reaction
from utah "fans" is to call them BYU fans in disguise. Go ahead and read
some national blogs, there are plenty of fans from other pac12 schools that
dislike utah, dislike utah "fans", and wish utah had never been allowed
to join the pac12. They think they are better than you and you are beneath them.
What makes you think they all love you and are thrilled to be associated with
I would be very happy to see the 8:30 games go away. 7:00 o'clock starts
are fine, but games consistently ending near midnight makes for a tough
Late afternoon, early evening games so they can watch us back east.Since when does Duckhunter speak for the PAC 12 fanbases?
@uteologyYou realize it isn't just BYU fans that don't
have any respect for utah don't you? None of the pac12 fanbases has any
I don't mind Saturday night games, but living east of Utah now, I
don't like weeknight late games because I usually have to be up early for
work the next day. Either way, though, I'm mostly just happy that all Utah
games were televised this year, as I've been able to either watch every
game live, or DVR them to catch them later. I'd take late night nationally
televised games over early non-televised, or regionally televised games any day.
The night games are the best, prime time college football. It doesn't get
any better. I also like Thursday and Friday night games! The season can't
start soon enough.
Personally I like night games, at least Thursday and Saturday night games, I
don't like them on Friday night. I'm guessing a lot Utah fans probably
feel the same way I do, in fact I know many of them that do. Those of us that
have kids playing youth football, and high school football, have games to attend
on Friday nights so we don't like the college games that night, but when
they are on Thursday or Saturday nights it free's up the Saturday
afternoons for us to attend our kids games. Yes I know that isn't everyone
but it is a sizeable enough amount of the fanbases to be considered. I'm guessing most of the fans complaining are old people, similar to the
segment of the BYU fanbase that complains about any game that doesn't start
at noon on Saturday. of course the irony of that is that most of them don't
ahve anywhere else to go or anything else to do anyway, they're old, and
retired, they just like to complain.
@????"My Ducks will continue to run it up on unworthy members of
the conference..."You spelled "Cougars" wrong.
It doesn't matter when they play the games. The Pac-10 contenders will
treat the other 2 members like the doormat that they are. My Ducks will continue
to run it up on unworthy members of the conference. It is like having our FCS
game right in the middle of conference. Good luck getting bowl eligible, little
