Thanks Alumnus or Alum for short both a specific chemical compound and a class
of chemical compounds. The specific compound is the hydrated potassium aluminium
sulfate (potassium alum) with the formula KAl(SO 4)2·12H 2O. More widely,
alums are double sulfate salts, with the formula AM(SO 4) 2·12H2O, where A
is a monovalent cation such as potassium or ammonium and M is a trivalent metal
ion such as aluminium or chromium(III).
Utah will get the monkey off
their back and will start winning on the road and when they do they will be a
tough team to beat and will contend for the conference title.

The BPI was created by ESPN; specifically Jay Bilas, Joe
Lunardi along with with ESPN staff analysts as a better predictor and
improvement upon the RPI. The BPI index is based on W-L record, margin of
victory and an SOS that takes in to account not only an opponents win-loss
record (like the RPI) but also the quality of the wins and losses of the
opponent. Also, teams with close losses (see Utah) are rewarded more than team
with multiple blowouts (see BYU).

Utah is 7th right now in the PAC 12 which means we would be the home team
against #10 Oregon We would also avoid a quarterfinal matchup against Arizona,
and instead we would get UCLA, who we not only beat but dominated until the last
few minutes. That is a clear-cut path to the conference tournament semifinals
which Utah did a good job last year at acheiving. Utah should split on the road
this week with USC and UCLA we should move up since CO has a brutal road
schedule still left to go.

The Utes have continued to make some good progress every year under coach K. I
realize that our preseason schedule was not good, I don't think anyone in
the basketball program has claimed otherwise. No matter who the opponent is,
it's pretty easy to see the improvement of this team. Seems like each week
more and more guys are getting comfortable within the offense. The scoring has
been more evenly distributed than it has been for a few years.
I hope
they can finally break through this week and get a win on the road. The USC
game will be the best chance they have. If they continue to distribute the ball
around and play good defense, they will have a shot.

I can guarantee that the NCAA looks at the lowest preseason schedule in the
