Ethan got justice lite, but the prison guard who was savagely beat up got no justice, in that the sentence for beating the guard runs concurrently with the murder sentence.

I agree with the father. Sloop gets to spend the rest of his life watching TV, eating 3 meals a day on our dime, and working out at the gym. Ethan gets nothing, not even justice. This is a clear miscarriage of justice. If ever any offender deserved the death penalty, it is this one.

If life in prison or even the death penalty is not enough then what is? By not forgiving we only hurt ourselves. A Heinous crime, absolutely. To the father let it go. Do you think Ethan wants you to be miserable for the rest of your life her on earth. We are commanded to let a higher power be the final judge.

Agreed with Samhill, there should be a better prospect with his remaining son now that he knows what to look for.

There must be a long list of items that brought up such a disaster in the first place.
Children being unattended in the backyard with a swimming pool, playing on the street or being in company with those you cannot trust completely...will all lead them closer to trouble.

It remains our very responsibility to be on that watch tower for children.
Any negligence on our part will hurt them.
It is not ours to judge, but we do live in this world and must learn from mistakes.

We have a very caring Heavenly Father, but the test of life includes our awareness and power to care over that which was giving to us.
The church has very good principles of Family Value that will help to adjust to it.

I said in an earlier post that just thinking about this story is so saddening and infuriating I'm left with no words. I haven't gotten much beyond that but would like to add that I hope Mr. Stacy and his other son are somehow, someday able to resume their lives happily and with the knowledge that they will meet Ethan again. Nothing is lost, only delayed.

Although I find Mr. Sloop's behavior abhorrent, I'm even more disturbed by the wife. This was her child. How could she allow this to happen? Why would they abuse and murder the little boy? I hope the two never get out of prison.
