I think this article does a good job of presenting the positive and negative aspects of working overseas. My company Teaching Nomad has teaching job vacancies specifically for China, we see people coming here for many different reasons. For some it's truly because they can't find work at home, but for the most part it's the experience of getting paid to travel the world that people are looking for. I do believe that as our world becomes more globalized, those with cross cultural awareness will be best positioned for success.

Everyone needs to settle down and take a chill pill. It's the natural process of globalization and transitional migration of technology and cultures from an empire on the decline and one on the rise. One hundred years ago it was Great Britain and today it is the United States. Things change and when you are number one, there is only one direction your can go, which is why my kids are learning Mandarin.

Both parties have failed to grasp what has been happening to this nation. (I do feel Obama enjoys it.) We do not have the technology to build anything electronic in our nation. Tool & die makers have nearly all retired. Machine tools are phasing out of our economy. Steel...we still make some, but less and less. Time/space does not permit explaining the causes and solutions. The root cause of our problems rests with liberals. Destruction of our country remains a goal of liberals everywhere. I don't see any hope for changing this trend.

Guys!?! Why are you looking at this for someone to blame. Read it again and see what it is saying. There are opportunities to be had! Do you think when the British East India Company posted someone to Hong Kong or Calcutta in 1850, they whined about the Tory Prime Minister? No they gladly took the opportunity for them and their kids! We have lived in 7 countries. My daughter's 9th grade school trip was biking across inner-Mongolia and band trip was to Manila. My son's soccer away games included Budapest and Sofia. They have seen true poverty and income inequality. They love people from Asia, Africa and Europe. My working skills have come from several cultures and I am better for it. Whether we/you like it or not, the world is getting to be a smaller place and those who see that opportunity will be those that benefit from it. My kids missed their grandparents, but when they were home, they really cherished the time. We missed much, but gained perspective in the trade. I am happy, my wife is happy!

Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr. and Reagan all supported the free trade policies that have transferred jobs to Communist China.

You don't like it now? It never mattered if you liked it. Congress was paid for and not by you.

Now we'll get a taste of what Mexico enjoys by leaving your family and wiring home whatever money you can at the end of the month. Love that free trade? Where goods are free to roam wherever they want but people have to ask permission? Don't impede the natural migration of the toaster!

I also blame Obama,,, In his speech the other night and all through his re-election, he touted over and over that the economy was growing and doing so much better, when in reality , more and more people that want to work are suffering and struggling to find work, because businesses are having such a hard time keeping up with all the government orders, and health care is just the latest...I fear we are never going to see the prosperity of the 1990's into the 2000's again..And when everyone realizes that all the money and effort that go into giving to people that have no intentions of ever giving back, is going to break this country

Come on Thid Barker . . . How can you blame Obama for the failed policies of Right Wingers?

The best thing self-described "Conservatives" can do for this nation is just stand back, stop obstructing progress, and let the Democrats fix all those horrendous Right Wing Mistakes.
