I've stopped signing in to Youtube, I don't use my gmail account, I've even switched from using Google to search the internet, and use an engine that respects privacy. If I wish to make myself known to someone over the internet, I'll do it one person at a time.

    Open your gmail.
Click on the gear icon and click on settings.
Scroll down until you see "Email via Google+"
Click the drop down box select "no one" (or whatever restriction you want).

Solved. Nobody from Google+ can email you.

It took me like 7 seconds or so.

I, for one, can handle random people emailing me based on seeing my face on my private Google+ page, therefore, I have no qualms about this change.

If it ever does bother me, I'll just delete the profile. For which Google has provided detailed instructions, the nerve!

Anyone actually upset about this? Are you aware of the choices you have?
