Chris, your statement that lottery picks should be starting shows you don't follow the NBA that close, there are plenty of lottery picks that aren't starting, the Jazz currently have two , Kanter and Burks that are lottery picks and aren't starting and there are many, many more .

    Poyman stated:
"he is currently playing between 12 and 18 minutes a game right now backing up the starting PG"
The ironic thing about this statement is... before Jimmer's rookie season I wrote on a DN news article that Jimmer would be a back-up PG/SG for 6-8 years in the NBA for 2-3 different teams. I got loads of comments from BYU fans bashing on me and saying I was wrong, I don't know basketball, I'm a BYU hater etc. Now it turns out BYU fans are happy Jimmer is a back up? and they way things are looking, my 6-8 year, playing for 2-3 different NBA teams is looking like a really good prediction.

Besmarter, Ute players are once again playing better than byu players.

Quite simple really. When was the last time a byu player in the NBA had a better season than all Utah players in the NBA?

    10, 15 years?

I have never been to either campus: BYU or Utah; but I know they are both great schools. However, for me, the petty potshots at Jimmer are really getting old.

Should we talk about your predictions? I guess its not a prediction when you say something about whats already happened, but I would think its much easier to "predict" something that already happened, like when you said Texas won the Big 12 and went to a BCS bowl. How'd you miss on that one, we already knew the answer! LOL

And the best player to come out of byu in 20+ years can't get off the bench and most certainly wont be starting anywhere he goes.

    What a program.

Shouldn't a first round pick be starting?

Certainly a lottery pick should be starting right? If you know anything about basketball you will know that a lottery pick starts, unless he's not as good as thought.

As much as Utah fans like you to console themselves with Jimmer's less than spectacular performance in the NBA, so far, it will never tarnish Jimmermania and his outstanding consensus player of the year career at BYU, nor his absolute one-man destruction of Utah in his final game in the Huntsman Center.

If Brandon Davies hadn't been suspended just before the post season began, BYU would have had a very legitimate chance of making a national championship run in Jimmer's senior year.

@chrisb... Sounds like you haven't been brought up to speed lately on Fredette (the former consensus first team All American, winner of the Player of the year in 2003, one of many BYU players who totally dominate Utah over 4 years, and the #10 pick in the 2011 NBA draft)...

There are two teams actively pursuing Fredette... Sacramento has refused to name them or to discuss what is being offered, but last word was that they had rejected an offer that had been tendered... So we will see... The trade deadline doesn't end till the All Star break in February.

He is currently playing between 12 and 18 minutes a game right now backing up the starting PG and over the past month has averaged nearly a point a minute... Among the best in the NBA... He's a career 41% 3 point shooter, and that will keep him in the league at about 2 Million a year for at least another couple of years.

    So stay tuned.

    Please CB
Tell us how the Utah players in the pros are working out.
Miller was just suspended and Bogut after 3 years of injuries is playing decent.
Where are all these great Ute players?
Davies in in the NBA not Europe. face it you were wrong.

Isn't it interesting that with how amazing Jimmer is we don't hear about any teams offering first round picks to get him, even though he rides the bench?

Surely there must be a dozen or so teams offering at least a first round pick to get first round Jimmer right?

So why don't the kings trade him for a first round pick?

    @ niners:

To answer your sarcastic question... No, it's bot even close to Jimmer's high, who incidentally is scoring more points per minute played than any other current Kings player.
But Brandon's NBA high of 11 points are exactly 11 points more than your NBA high.
Jealousy always paints an ugly face. And right now, yours could probably do with a bit of makeup.

    @ Chris B:

Last fall, you made a solid prediction (just shy of one of your infamous guarantees) that Davies would be playing in Europe by now. Another "mark it down" prediction that went wrong. Perhaps you're beginning to understand why people laugh at most of them.

I remember Brandon busing tables at Tui Crighton's missionary farewell dinner while Jake Heaps sat quietly at a table by himself, having just arrived on campus for spring ball.

It's amazing how much has happened since then.

    Congratulations Brandon.

The goal you had way back then has finally been realized!

This can't be accurate. Christy B guaranteed us that Brandon couldn't hang with an NBA team. With her 100% accuracy rate on predictions this just can't be accurate.

    RE: niners

Sorry little brother that two BYU players are making it in the NBA. Of course the Utes had some great players drafted before the Dave Rose era but the career high of anyone from Utah in the last five years or so in the NBA is exactly zero. If you're going to talk smack I would stick to football where at least you can make an argument.

P.S. If you're not a Ute fan I apologize in advance. I'm just assuming that given your anti-BYU post.

Congrats to Davies! Deseret News, is that seriously the best picture you can get of Davies. Sure it is in the process of him making a great play by drawing the charge, but maybe one that shows his face would be better? Not a big deal, but just thought it was weird that the picture chosen for an article about Davies doesn't even show his face.
