After Utah wins tonight, here are the post game predictions in advance.

Reasons why BYU is still the better team:
The polls have us ranked higher
The better team doesn’t always win - it was a fluke
We will have a better record at the end of the season

    Reasons why BYU lost:
    We beat ourselves
    Those darn Pac-12 refs
    Someone was not 100%

Time to head out and watch the game live now.

    Go Utes!

p.s. The Lady Utes already got a W today. Can some give us an update on the Deseret Duel Challenge? Gymnastics are a lock.

I dropped DirectTV, like many others, in favor of one of their competitors that has the Pac-12 network.

Not sure what the problem is with DirectTV, they have the BIG-10 network, why not the Pac-12?

Easy problem for the sports fan - just switch to Comcast or DISH.

A rivalry doesn't exist if one team wins eight in a row.

There has to be balance with the "win-loss" record.

2013 Ute Seniors, so your telling all of us here that the better team ALWAYS wins? To most of us who know sports that's not always the case. Of course from your logic the team with the better record is always better, right? But that blows your philosophies out of the water. But mayber your right Colorado football is about even with the Utes, right? Do you have to find something to say since you've lost 7 straight in basketball? Only 1 game even being close, hmm, you guys say BYU fans are unrealistic, well you've proved the opposite.

    One correction:

Top 25 Colorado is utah's rival. Byu is an instate opponent, but not a rival.

Tators, your silence will be deafening this week, that is IF you follow through with your promise not to post for a week after Utah win.

Before the game, lets review how sports work.

The team with more points is the winner. The team with fewer points is the losing team.

The winner is better than the losing team.

    Any questions byu fans?

In just a few hours the byu fans will be blaming one of a few things:

    PAC 12 refs
The weather inside the huntsman center that impacted byu and not Utah
Byu gave the game away, Utah didnt truly win

    Utes win

What a one sided article. Based on the title "BYU, Utah Basketball" I was expecting something a little more balanced Jeff. I understand you cover BYU sports, but then give the article a different title. Good luck to both teams.

Should be a fun game to watch! The Utes almost won last year in the Marriott Center and that is difficult for most teams, with this year's game at Utah and Utah's players having more experience than last year it would seem like the Utes have an advantage. But BYU has more experience so far this year playing good teams and BYU is playing a different kind of game than they played last year.

I think it will be fun to see how the two teams match up this year it seems like the Utes have decided to run with BYU so likely to be a high scoring game, go Cougars

    From the DirecTV website:

"The Pacific 12 Conference created its own sports channel in August 2012 but sold off its most popular games to other networks already available to all DIRECTV customers. Even though it is unwilling to invest its best games into its own channel, the conference has still established a high price for Pac-12 Networks and refuses to compromise. If Pac-12 really wants to offer unprecedented access, it will simply free students, alumnae and all of the other most loyal supporters to get all of these games they deserve. DIRECTV has always been willing to add Pac-12 Network for these same fans and their families who want it as long as we’re not forcing everyone else to pay for it too. Pac-12 schools have a tradition of terrific competition and fair play, so we can’t understand why the conference won’t allow anyone to simply choose."

Given a choice, I think I'd rather get the NBC Sports channel and get to watch English Premier League soccer; unfortunately, BYU plays road games against Pac-12 opponents, so I guess I'll be watching the game at my daughter's house tomorrow.
