As more and more members of the LDS faith live in southern South America, concern for these families prompts LDS leaders to teach and strengthen them, to teach and build leadership among them.

It is good that these leaders know about the Church through contact from their own citizens. It is needed for the work to go forward in every nation of the world. Families are important and solidify relationships and convictions. Good to also have leaders to accompany the Apostles and the Seventy leaders

As more and more tithe payers are now in Latin America, it only makes sense for the LDS leaders to spend more face time there.
