I think Bingham wins v LP by 14.
I have no idea who will win the Brighton v Jordan game. I think Jordan's experience will play a part, but that may not be the difference still if Osa can have a big game and their qb can run the ball. I'm going to say Brighton 42 Jordan 41.
East, no contest. Timpview will win as well and East v Timpview will be worth the drive up to RES to see live.
Bingham v Jordan would be a better game in my opinion than Brighton v Bingham but I'd have to go with Bingham either way.
East v Bingham would be good to see...having played them both I'd say East would win by 10 or so.

Pig skin Fan sounds a little Jelly. All hatin on AUZ because he tearing it up as a Junior. Well I will agree with ya on his arm, but he has one more year of high school football to play. Then he will go to Wisconsin and I Bet the QB coach there will teach him better mechanics/Technique, to succeed in college. But guessing where your from, He must of left a bad taste in your mouth after last year's but whoopin Syracuse took at the hands of a Sophmore QB, vs the #1 ranked Defense in Utah. But hey keep hating on these kids in Utah, that are having success. Maybe ya should try saying something positive after all they are bringing Big time programs to the state to look at these kids. I think Utah is at an all time high for D-1 recruits. And it's a good thing. Go Diggers GDP.

LP Shocks the state and gets the upset this weekend LP-34 BHS- 31. Jordan is clickin exactly at the right time and I think beats Brighton by 2 scores. Cant wait to see East/Timpview game!

I totally agree with you; except you got the scores reverse on Jordan and Brighton. I think you meant Brighton 44 and Jordan 36. Right, because that is what will happen. What position will that QB play for Wisconsin, not QB obviously. His arm is not accruate enough for any college.

And they killed that Alta team. Bingham let Alta score 27 points on them... they scored 6 on Lone Peak (until backups were in). Yes people use the excuse "Alta was really pumped up, Bingham didn't care to be there." Bingham is lucky to not have lost that game due to Alta's two huge turnovers. I honestly think this game is going to be a whole heck of a lot closer than most people think. Lone Peak knows they can beat Bingham, and they will play like it. They have the horses to do it. It's going to be a great game between two great teams.

    Hey porkpies,

I like your thinking. Jordan will do well to hang with Brighton again. I see a Bingham Brighton Finals with the Game being closer than the game earlier this year. Lone Peak has no prayer of staying with Bingham. The Alta team they beat in quarters was not even in the same talent category with Bingham.

Don't be shocked when you see Brighton's Defense show up much tougher (changes are coming, it's not gonna be the same old high scoring affair with Jordan, it's gonna be a bully game and you have to love Brighton's size in this one! Go Bengal Pride, one more and we dance with Bingham!

Lone Peak is not ready for Bingham, the have a Stud in Gajkowski but it wont be enough
Jordan is going to outscore Brighton, hard to beat a team twice.

Lone Peak will give Bingham everything they can handle. There's a reason they completely shut down Alta and held them without a touchdown to 6 points (the other 14 were against backups with 4 minutes left in the game). Lone Peak always brings their A-game when they play Bingham and they have the only defense left in the tournament that can slow down Bingham's offense. I think it will be a great game and come down to the wire.

Jordan is playing well right now and is capable of scoring a lot of points. Can Jordan stop the Brighton offense? That is the question. Either way it should be a great game.

Bingham will beat Lone Peak easily. I would not be surprised if Bingham kept Lone Peak from scoring anything than other than a garbage touchdown or field goal late in the game. Lone Peak beat a bad Syracuse team and a very over rated Alta team. They are simply no match for Bingham.

In 4A I see a Timpview vs East match up in the state title game. I predict that East will run all Timpview on their way to a lopsided victory.

Good Luck and good health to all the teams involved in the playoffs.

I also want to give a big shout out to all the teams for keeping their vast amounts of transfer paperwork in order so we don't have the added distractions this season.

The Olympus vs East game worries me. As an East supporter, I could see East overlooking Olympus and laying a big one. I scouted Olympus a few times and they are fast, and surprisingly physical for their size. Man to man, East is much bigger, but as everyone knows, speed beats size. East will need to sustain drives, because from what I have seen Olympus does not allow big plays often and their defense is quick to the ball - East thrived on big play scores. Another worry, is I believe Olympus likes to hear that they are the underdogs and will play loosy goosy, which typically results in a competitive match. I hope Matich is smart enough to not overlook Olympus and get his guys prepared, because if not, Olympus could catch us off guard.

No, the 3A is playing at Weber, along with 1A and 2A. Of course, the 3A were all mad that they had to go south to the Semi at SUU, but it's all planned ahead of time, contracts are signed, the sites will rotate, and everyone will get something to complain about every few years or so.

At least the UHSAA is finally allowing the small schools a chance to play at a college, they were stuck in high schools the last few years.

Maybe some day they will let the small schools touch the turf at RES...but I doubt it.

3 southern teams heading north to play. The last couple years, there was lots of complaining about moving the games south. In fact, I believe they moved one game south didn't they? What about 3A? Will Judge and Morgan have to go to Cedar to play next week? Crazy UHSAA anyway.

I attended the Brighton herriman game, and WOW what a game! that was incredible!

Brighton played PERFECT! no punts! NO turnovers, when the d needed a stop, they finally got there first 3 and out and scored to get the advantage, that Herriman team is very good! it was one of the best high school games Ive watched in years!

Bingham easily won of course and now takes on a very confident and hot Lone peak squad, that will be a test!

unless nichols keeps running for 273 wow!

Jordans Offense is hitting on all cylinders, and are scary good right now
Brighton vs jordan will be a great game at 230 at the Turf!

    Good luck to all teams!

East vs Timpview in the final! that will be a great game!

Cant wait until East and Timpview play.

Timpview knows what it takes to win state (6-9), 6 out of 9 state championships is not bad. infact that is pretty impressive!

East sertainly has VERY IMPRESSIVE, SKILL and POWER on their team.

Is East's impressive power and skill, enough to take on Timpview's POWER, SKILL and (6 of the last 9 state champs) EXPERIENCE, that Timpview's head coach Cary Whittinham has under his belt?

I really can't decide which is more unbelievable...the East 100... or the Olympus 7 haha

Just kidding, good luck to all those top-notch 4a and 5a programs.

    5A Semis:

    Bingham 45, Lone Peak 21
    Jordan 44, Brighton 36

    4A Semis:

    East 100, Olympus 7
    Timpview 44, Woods Cross 20

Okay so maybe the East one is a bit high but it could be that if they didn't have a running clock.
