Nice job Oly! Whitehead must have been having a out of body experience and telepathically communicating with Marshall when he called that play. Only Whiteheads play worked.

Really well executed play. Wish I had been at that game. Sounds like it was really good.

    Play went like this:

Olympus just got a first down on Springville's 41-yard line. The receiver on the right side ran about a 10-12 yard in route just inside the 30-yard line. He then lateraled to the other left side side receiver now coming towards him. Meier, the running back, basically followed the play. When the players converged on the ball carrier he made a pitch to his right to Meier who went 30 yards to score.

I think there is video of the play...

So it was basically a hook and ladder followed by a reverse. Tough way to lose a game. Gotta put that on the coaching for Springville though. No excuse for that much open space downfield on the final play of the game.

I was at this game and it was truly a great game. Both teams ran the ball at will but with contrasting styles. Springville with its size ran generally ran right at Olympus and sprinkled in some effective passes while Olympus and its double wing misdirection was simply masterful. Then this play came out of nowhere. Great call. It looked like besides a couple of players like Meier and Haller that the Titans were overmatched physically, but with great execution and coaching, they overcame.
