While living in PA I knew a Christian family who didn't celebrate Halloween because they thought it was associated with Satan. They kept their kids home from school on Halloween. Years earlier when we were living in LA my son had a couple of classmates who were Jehovah Witnesses. They weren't allowed by their parents to participate in anything having to do with a holiday, whether it was an art project coloring a Jack-o-Lantern or singing a Christmas song.

    Life goes on....

Church is a great place to celebrate religious holidays, Ramadan, saturnalia (Christmas), ‎Rosh Hashanah, Samhain (Halloween), Eoster (Easter), etc.

Well, since the public schools provide support to the secular societies by producing good citizens who can do math and science -- religious holidays would only distract from that purpose. Happy American Commercial Wintertime Festival, y'all.

PS Xmas started anciently as an abbreviation for Christ's Mass [ cross mass ]. It is not a secularization either then or now.

Xmas works just fine for me and millions of other non religious Americans. Keep the religious propoganda out of our schools.
