Kyle Whittingham: If you had told me Andy Phillips was going to be 12 of his first 14 kicks, we all would have taken that

@Sportsfan: That is still an irrelevant post. We played flat in one game against AZ. We pick it up against USC and going forward. Washington's 2012 season is not Utah's 2013 season.

Coach Whitt: "Why is the million-dollar question."

Again, a million dollar coach gets paid to find answers to million dollar questions. And he's got a coach with 23 years of head coaching experience to help him.

So let's learn from the first road trip. The USC game can be won - they're not anywhere close to the same caliber as Stanford. Utah should be able to play to that level again - at least against USC, WSU, and CU.

This week is also a great week to impress SoCal recruits.

    Go Utes!

"On Thu, Sept 27, 2012, Washington upset 8th-ranked Stanford 17-13.

Washington was blown out in its next three games at Oregon 52-21, by USC 24-14, and at Arizona 52-17 (coincidentally, 3 of Utah's next 4 opponents) and ended up finishing the season 7-6 with season-ending losses to Washington State and to Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl."

"So what? Do you really have to dig that deep and pretend to connect the dots in hopes of Utah faltering?... What Washington did last year is totally irrealavent, nice try though."

"Thanks to Sportsfan for that irrelevant lesson on 2012 UW football."

    Kyle Whittingham

"Okay, I didn't think we handled the first Pac-12 road trip very well. We came out flat in the first half, didn't play well at all in the first half."

"Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

Utah already lost to the weakest of the three common opponents - next up @USC and Arizona St, and then @Oregon.

By November 23rd, 6-6 might be looking very good.

I just read up on the trojans 2 tight ends a running back and maybe the star receiver will be out. If that is true then I think Utah's D has a good shot at shutting them down.
The Utes can win this one.
