Utah Bruin, if you want to be obsessed with the Utes, go ahead. It mimics what
many BYU fans do so thus my inquiry. Kind of funny to me as someone who lives
in PAC 12 territory out of the bubble, I feel no need to do the same. And just
a olive branch from me to you, I hope your Bruins beat the living tar out of
USC. And if your team does win tonight, live up to the hype and don't be
an ASU which stomps people one week and curls up in the fetal position the next
(AKA the hype won't be justified until you win the PAC 12 South) Go Utes.
UtahBruin will be looking silly after his mighty UCLA goes down tonight.Utahbruin, start embracing the "Utah" in you, in support of the
by far the premier program in our state.
@bruinHow do you expect Utah fans to react? If I went to a LA
newspaper blog and talked up Utah and predicted a 24 point victory I'm sure
Bruin fans would fire off at me. Then again, I wouldn't do that.
UtahBruin--"This is one of the main reason I can't stand
Utah fans."Was this a blanket-statement? Please
clarify....Then, go ahead and distinguish the utter superiority of the ucla
fanbase, by comparison?Thanks in advance!
Rock of the MarneFirst, I don't claim, I am. Second, Utah
plays in the PAC-12, which affects my Bruins. Yes I will still be here. So you
don't have to doubt it. Third, Would that be any different than any of you
other Ute trolls who are on every BYU article?I am a football fan.
So I will continue to read and post as I please. But thanks Mom for the
lecture. This is one of the main reason I can't stand Utah fans. It is
comments like this that come out of nowhere for nothing. My screen name is
UtahBruin, I have been on her for years. Your right, I made that up so I could
talk UCLA smack before you were part of the PAC-12.GO BRUINS!
UtahBruin, If you are what you claim, I can assume after next week we won't
see you on every Utah article unlike many a Y fan who disguise themselves as
fans of other teams due to their team's inability to beat the Utes. It
will be interesting to see. I have my doubts.
Pick a 28 point difference when last years game was a 7 point game and the
spread is 6.? Maybe not pompous but certainly over confident. It certainly
isn't realistic. I guess we shall see tonight but I see this as a close
game. Either way, thanks for the dialogue and no offense.GO UTESUtah 63UCLA 38-)
@SpokanUteYour asking me to be humble. Go read all my post, they
are more than humble. You say I am not humble because I pick a score.
UCLA beat Utah 21-14 at home last year. Thet are a 6 point favorite tomorrow
night. A 28 point prediction is unsurd, plain and simple. I believe Utah was a
7 point dog to BYU and we all know how that turned out.GO UTES
My prediction will be far closer than yours. 45-17? Yes, that's pompous.
That's ridiculous. Why not just sat 63-3? That makes about as much sense.
Obviously you have swept the results of the last two meetings under the rug.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the last blow out between these two was when
UCLA came to town prior to Utah joining the PAC 12. You do remember that game
don't you? Yes I will be back on Friday to give credit where credit is due.
That's how I roll. Humble up Bruin, The PAC 12 season is just begining.
@SpokaneUtePompous UCLA fans? Really? That is pretty arrogant and
pompous of a utah fan to even make that statement isn't it? I hope you are
back on these articles Friday morning? And obviously you are not as
confident in your Utes as I am in my Bruins since you only think it will be a
three point win. I am really thinking a 45-17 is a very strong possibility.
GO BRUINS! From a pompous UCLA fan
Time for Utah to establish the pecking order. I see a Bruin fan predicting a
45-17 win. Don't bet on it, the Utes play well against UCLA. BYU fans made
the same outlandish predictions before being beat by Utah. Now all they can do
is pull for Utahs opponents to do what they can't, beat Utah! How sad and
pathetic. pompous UCLA fans with crazy predictions will make Utahs victory all
that sweeter.Utah 27UCLA 24GO UTES!
VegasUteWho was the starter in 2007? It was Johnson wasn't it,
but the knee injury kept him out of this game. And Darrell Mack was no slouch
of a RB to pick up the slack. And I thought Hays was your starter in 2011? Was
that the year of Wynns shoulder surgeries? Even so, John White was no slouch at
the Rb position either. And Utah's Defense was good both of those years.
We had Olsen and Prince those two years. Terrible QB's, and Prince was
trying to get this new offense that every school seems to be adopting now a
days. Utah was the better team I thought both years with much more depth. We
did have J. Franklin in 2011 and he got his yards in that game, but we had Kevin
Prince also. And our Defense ranked at the bottom of the nation in 2011, and in
2007 it was alright. Giving up on average 22 Points per in 2007 and 31 PPG in
2011. I admit we were not good those years. You have to agree don't
you.Good luck to your Utes, here's to a good game.GO BRUINS!
Just the FAX:The last two times Utah played UCLA at Rice-Eccles
Stadium, the Utes had MUCH weaker offenses and still scored a total of 75
points. Utah had back up QBs in both of those games, and in 2011, Utah had less
that 70 yards passing. Nice try. If Utah stayed the same both
offensively and defensively, then you might have a point. Hey, but
thanks for giving us your support and your love, just like you do on all Utah
stories! We truly appreciate your dedication to the Ute program!Go
Utes! Onward and Upward!!
Stringer - where does UtahBruin say he knows how good UCLA is? He says he
thinks UCLA is a better team than Utah. What is your problem with that?
@Stringer BellI watch the games and give my two cents. I don't
know how good they really are. This is my perception. How do you
know Utah is so good? And why will we see tomorrow night how good UCLA really
is? Utah has played a so-so Utah State, a so-so Oregon State, a terribly
struggling BYU team, and Weber State. Does Weber State even count as a tin can?
They might be more like a juice box. I have seen every UCLA game, I have seen
every Utah game. My money is on UCLA. If Utah goes and plays at Nebraska, they
lose. If Utah plays Nevada, it is closer than you might think, but Utah wins.
If Utah plays New Mexico State, they win big also. This is my opinion. I have
said I will eat my crow if UCLA loses tomorrow night. Will yo do the same after
UCLA spanks the Utes. You have to watch the games. You are not a poll voter,
you can't just red the box scores.GO BRUINS!
UtahBruin, how do you know how good UCLA is? They haven't been tested yet.
They beat a so-so Nebraska and two tin cans. They may be the best of the Pac
12- or not, but they have never proved to be a good road team. We'll see
@Where is Hadley?What top 15 team will you beat?UCLA?
NopeStanford? NopeArizona State (Saying they get inside the 15)?
NopeOregon? NopeI don't think Arizona, USC, WAZZU, or the
Buffs have a chance at the top 15 this year.Sorry man, Top 15, not
this year. I think the Utes are an alright team this year. But not that good.
As a UCLA fan, I will say that I think your best hope is tomorrow night, that is
if the weather is crappy. But I still don't see it happening. But as I
said before, that is why they play the games. Good luck to your Utes and to my
Bruins, I hope it is a game played with no mistakes on either side, good
weather, and perfect execution on both sides. If that is the case, I think UCLA
wins. And I think you might even agree with that. Utah needs some bounces to
go there way I believe to win this game. But again, that is why they play the
GO UCLA BRUINS!Let's lay some things out first. As a UCLA fan,
I respect most Utah fans. Some are classy in their rants to support their
teams. But ChrisB, your same comment is getting old. So let's clarify
some things.1) I hope the weather is not bad, I would hate for
either team to win because of a weather causing fumble, INT, whatever.2)
Those recent years games in 2007 and 2011, UCLA finished with 6 wins each year
and below .500 each year. The Utes were 9-4 and 8-5, I think clearly the better
team those years.3) We are better this year, a lot better than those
years.4) We have a much better QB this year, much better who knows how to
run this offense5) ChrisB, Wilson is the best QB we will face this year.
What about Nebraska's Martinez and believe it or not, Nevada's
Fajardo, might be just as good as Wilson, it's close. Don't argue,
it's true.To many things point to a UCLA win tomorrow night.
Is an upset possible, yep maybe. But I like my chances. BRUINS WIN!UCLA 45Utah 17GO BRUINS!
I hope the Ute's win but they will need a lot of hope. But to be frank all
Utah football teams are not that good this year. If USU wins the MWC they may
have a chance to be ranked in the high 20's but that will be the best if
they are lucky.
Ed Grady,Whittingham will beat a top 15 powerhouse team, and one
that is legitimately ranked that high, leading Utah to the Pac 12 title game.
And Dr. Hill will be getting ready another big pay increase for Whittingham.
Utes for life!
This game will be over by half time, and Jim Mora Jr will say a bunch of nice
patronizing things about the utes to try and save Whittingham's job.
PGFan,Just remember, however "bad" we are, you're
worse! You can't beat us.Isn't it funny how byu
fans have to take sides with the Pac 12 teams that beat Utah, since their team
Great video...thanks Des News! The last time UCLA visited RES the game was
wildly entertaining. Any chance of snow on Thursday? That would
certainly help the Utes. GO UTES!
christina is correct, the winner of this game will probably go to the rose bowl
which means we will probably be seeing ucla playing in pasadena in january.
Uties lose by 40, and UCLA is only the second best team in the PAC12 South. No
bowl game again this year. Utes finish 4-8 winning a close battle with Colorado
to stay out of the cellar.
UCLA is much improved over last year. But so are the Utes. It's going to be
a fun game. I was impressed with the U's d-line against BYU. They were did
not get pushed around. As a Ute fan, I am seeing a team on the rise. Travis
Wilson has provided stability at QB and should be able to help the defense out
by moving the ball down the field. Looking forward to this game. Should be a
At home, I like our chances a lot. Wilson is by far the best qb they
have faced. Win the turnovers and we win the game. And
the winner will likely win PAC 12 south. I will be there Thursday.
The winner likely goes to the rose bowl, as the winner will play Oregon for the
PAC 12 title game and Oregon will likely play for the national championship. And for those who say Utah won't win Thursday, you people said Utah
wouldn't beat usu and byu. Utah 27Ucla 24And
yes, the winner likely plays in rose bowl!I love my PAC 12
The last two times Utah played UCLA at Rice-Eccles Stadium, the Utes held a MUCH
weaker UCLA offense to a pair of field goals in each game, a grand total of 12
points, while scoring 75 against a MUCH weaker UCLA defense.Based on
historic precedent, which is what the author seems to be relying on, the Utes
have about a 20% chance of beating UCLA - the Bruins are 8-2 lifetime versus the
Utes, including beating the Utes 21-14 last year.
