BYU will win this game. They are not rivals and it hasn't been 100 years since BYU last lost to the aggies.

So Chris B, who are Utah's rivals? I can't imagine a "big time program" as you label Utah (as opposed to the fun little program in Logan) would have no rivals...Name them. ?ASU? The Sun Devils look at the U as a minor league team. I think you are left with the really big rivalry, Colorado?

Thanks ChrisB, your comments only show how relevant BYU and Utah State are to Utah. If BYU and USU were irrelevant, then you wouldn't spend time on our articles. Thanks for demonstrating that we are equally important!

    Chris B,
Does Utah have a special case or room for that huge State of Utah Championship trophy in that new building they just opened? And once again you need to be the first to post on an article that has nothing to do with Utah and shine a light on yourself!!! How many messages have you sent to UCLA fans this week? Which LA paper is like the DN? What is the name of the UCLA student newspaper? What are the names of the UCLA mascots? What are UCLA's primary colors? Just wanted to know what you know about one of your new rivals!!! Good luck Thurs.!!!

    UCLA 70
    Utah 14

Utah to the PAC 12, is New Mexico to the MWC.

Having a cousin, and two friends on the Aggie team, I'll just say-

    BYU 28
    Utah State 17

    Sept. 30, 2013 6:00 p.m.

Aggies will win if they can keep BYU defense out of Chuckie's face. BYU will win if Aggie defense stays in the locker room. Go Aggies!

    Chris B,

I am curious to know who Utah views as their rival if it isn't BYU or USU? Colorado? That's a pitiful replacement! USC? They sure as heck don't consider you a rival, or even part of the Pac 12. When I went down to the USC/USU game in L.A. every time I said, "beat the Utes", the response was, "who is that?" Keep dreaming if you think the true Pac 10 considers Utah on anywhere near the same playing field. You can alienate yourself and dispose of your traditional rivals all you want, but you aren't going to pick up any new rivals any time soon. Enjoy perennial losing seasons.

Also, USU is the best team in the state and will pummel BYU. This will be a good rivalry going forward. Best of luck to all 3 teams in the state after this Friday!

I love how Chris pretends he doesn't care about USU and BYU.

And yet 5 of the first 6 comments are his. Figures.

Here is recuriting ranking for NCAA football teams it is out of 122 teams.
    BYU 2010 #40
    2011 #62
    2012 #61
    2013 #70

    USU 2010 #108
    2011 #77
    2012 #116
    2013 #104

So if BYU does not win, it shows that the coaching staff should be fired. Since BYU players are underperforming because of bad coaching.

This is the one and only true rivalry in the state.

Utah is no longer a rival with these teams(although they see it that way)

The head to head records on the field the last decade prove it is very one sided against both Utah state and byu.

And power conference teams aren't rivals with non power conference teams.

You think San Diego is a rival to USC and UCLA simply due to close proximity?

byu/usu: the best(and only) rivalry in the state.

    Go aggies!

Kind of like the byu Middle tennesse game, no one outside of Provo, Logan in this case, and some lds wards across the nation care anything about this game as it has no BCS bowl implications whatsoever. And neither of these teams has proven in many years they are nationally relevant(see top 10 finishes, undefeated seasons)

Meanwhile, in Salt Lake City there is a huge game with national power UCLA to determine the Pac 12 South winner, with the winner playing Oregon for the Rose Bowl. The nation will be very interested. And both of these teams have proven in the last decade they are nationally relevant(see top 10 finishes, undefeated seasons)

Best of luck to Utah State and Utah this week.

    Utah State 27

    Utah 27

    Mark it Down

    Go aggies!

Since both of these teams' quests for BCS bowls and since both of them lost to their big brother Pac 12 University of Utah, this really will be the only bragging rights either of them have.

The loser will really not have much of anything to brag about this year.

And I think that will be the boys from Provo.

Its one thing to say your team goes fast and hard

It's another thing to have the athletes that actually can do it

    Go Aggies!

This will be a great rivalry going forward.

It will determine the second best team in the state.

I also think byu/usu will be fighting each other in recruiting for the kids who aren't given offers by Utah(see head to head to head between the 3 schools more recruits have picked Utah EVERY year since our Pac 12 invite)
