We all believe that Utah means nothing to you. It is proven by the fact that you flock to all things Ute. Your postings on so many Utah stories reflect that you couldn't care less about Utah.

    We appreciate your support anyway!

BTW, I have 3 brothers that went to the U and all are byU fans. So, congratulations on your Utah diploma. And good luck to you and all of your favorite teams, which also happen to play against Utah.

My real guess is a byU fan who is too embarrassed to admit it any more. Any seconds on that guess?

    Go Utes!!

Bring on the Yogi, Boo-boo, Smokey, et al!

Why didn't you just start that diatribe with "I'll root for anyone else that plays the Utes because I don't like them" and save us from wasting our time. And why does it matter if you are a Utah grad? There are plenty of BYU grads who root for the U, Oregon State grads who root for Oregon, etc. Just because you attended does not mean you have to cheer for them.
As for your other prediction, Utah has at least three more wins on their schedule, I believe. Washington State, Colorado and Arizona. And if we pick it up a little more, I think we could have USC and Arizona State.

    @ TJ

"Utah may win one more game, but odds are they go winless here on out."

I don't think you understand how "odds" work.

This was on KSL and seems appropriate here:

I find it ironic that the standard of excellence is a top 25 rating. Barry Switzer asked it best 30 years ago, 'Who did they play?'. That question has been relevant every season since then. Winning 8-11 times per season against a middle of the road schedule strength is not an accomplishment. Being ranked doesn't mean squat if you can't beat the good teams (when they are good) on your schedule. The schedule of 'BCS Bowl' quality is rapidly becoming a nightmare for you in two ways.
    1. Most of the teams scheduled are turning out to be weak this year (nobody has control of that).
    2. Even with the weakened schedule getting 5 more wins will be difficult.

Maybe a reevaluation of expectations is in order? If BYU was still in the MtnWest, you would probably be 3rd or 4th. Which is pretty much where you finished for the last 10 years.

    Cut Mendenhall some slack.
    Stop throwing things at people.
Embrace reality and make it a good thing.

Pass defense improves against a QB with 37% accuracy? Whit, please stop before you get ahead of yourself lol. You had commented that our OLine was the strength of the team? Our DLine was the most talented GROUP. I have yet to see your comments be of value. You're a good man though and hopefully this season will yet surprise us all. Thank you for the win on Saturday.

    GO UTES!!

Before the Utah pass defense thinks it has proved anything, it needs to go up against a quarterback who has proved he can pass. Taysom Hill is very talented, and there is no doubt that his arm is stronger than Riley Nelson could ever hope to be, but accurate he is not, and his receivers didn't do a lot to help him out. The Utah secondary may have looked better, but a real passing quarterback would have shredded them again.

Not so sure about the winner in two weeks being the PAC-South Champion. We are not sure how good Arizona is yet, they have yet to be tested. This week will tell a lot when they play Wash, I am thinking Wash might be for real this year. Despite ASU's 1st half meltdown against Stanford, I still think they are a solid team. Colorado, ehh, not this year. USC, you just never know what team is going to show up, but I think and hope they are down this year. UCLA, as much as I love my Bruins, I am not completely sold on our best win yet this year against Nebraska. I am not sure who Neb really is yet either. And as for your Utes, time will tell. I don't like Utah, but I sure like Wilson at QB and as much as I dont like Erickson either, he called what I thought was a great game against BYU. But we will see about Utah when they get UCLA, Stanford, AZ, USC all back to back and then ASU and Oregon, that is a tough road with little rest.

Utah's passing defense improved against BYU - How could it not? 18 of 48, and it wasn't like Utah was knocking down all the passes, Hill threw more than Utah knocked down into the dirt or 10 yards out of bounds.

    October 3rd - GO BRUINS!

@J-TX, could you please point out which ones? Thanks. And while you are at it, please point out the PIs against BYU that weren't called, or the TD with the elbow down that shouldn't have happened. Please explain and give examples. And don't even think about bringing up the last play of the game...the Y WR pulled the U CB down on him, so should have really been Offensive PI. But its ok, no one ever give Utah credit when they win, it was always somebody else's fault their team lost. And if you were really not a BYU fan, you would have pointed out their missed stuff as well as Utah's, so you must be a Y homer!

But the Ducks do look unbeatable this year, keep it up.

I'm not a fan of BYU or UoU, but there were at least 4 blatant pass interference calls that were ignored against Utah. PAC12 Refs need to make the PAC look smart in their woeful decision to add Utah and Colorado.

That said, Hill couldn't hit the broad side of an ocean liner.

    GO DUCKS!!

Now it's time to go out and beat PAC 12 teams, especially the home games. It would be nice to prove football experts like Thomas Jefferson wrong. What has happened the last 2 years has NO bearing on this year. I find it so amusing that BYU fans have to hop in the opposing PAC 12 teams band wagon in hopes they can do, what there team can not: beat Utah. How sad to have to rely on someone else.

    GO UTES!

I had to chuckle at the headline...

Utah's improvement in defense against the pass was really the result of the play of Taysom Hill.

It's kind of like saying someone's dunking ability has improved only to learn that they've moved the basket to 6 feet.

The Utah defense better show a lot of improvement in the next 10 days or they will begin conference play 0-2.

State championships are reserved for fond high school memories and are something no one can ever take away.

Just move along and focus on conference game 2. Try getting out of the block fast this time around! Don't wait until the middle of the 2nd quarter to show up.

Another home game... take care of business.

The problem is, though, that Taysom improved his passing numbers against Utah. Only one INT, he almost doubled his total yardage, and threw for 4% better completions. A typical Utah secondary would've turned this into a 5-30, 40 yard night with 3 picks instead of an 18-48, 260 yard night. Yes, he looked that bad to me. Still not impressed in that aspect, Utes!
