Thanks for the kind words, but the author doesn't understand the MWC rules, it is the divisional champs who play for the conference championship. If the Aggies end up 7-1 in conference play it would likely be someone in their division who beat them and that team would likely be 8-0. So for the Aggies to go to the MWC Championship they will likely need to run the remaining table to do it. Can they do that? I think there is a pretty good chance they can. But as has already been mentioned we need to just take it one game at a time.

Since our schedule for the next five weeks (after Weber State) has the heavy hitting games one right after another (no "bye" weeks or cream puffs like another team I could mention here) we will know fairly soon if the Aggies are going to dominate this year.

Starting off with a tough loss (in a game we gave away) was a lousy way to start the season (but it was a heck of a gift to Utah) but we can still do very well this year! :-)

    Go Aggies!

Only a troll who is a fan of a team FORMALLY belonging to the MWC would derate it that way. I guarantee that almost all Ute fans were excited and thrilled to be in the running for that conference championship... during those few years that they actually did. There are and were usually multiple nationally ranked teams in the conference most years.

And if Urban Meyer hadn't come Utah's way, they would still belong in the MWC today and Chris B would be touting what a great conference it is. How he can be proud to be one of the 2 cellar dwellers in the PAC is beyond most people's understanding.

USU is truly and up and coming program... being only 2 missed field goals from going undefeated last year and going to a BSC bowl game. Since Matt Wells was previously their offensive coordinator and main recruiter, they didn't miss a beat after Andersen left. Watch for USU to be nationally ranked again by the middle of the conference season.

The only reason my little sister claims she didn't get excited about winning WAC/MWC titled is because our team hardly ever won a WAC/MWC title - only six in 49 years in the WAC/MWC.

Now that we're in the PAC, the chances of winning a conference title are even less, like, maybe one in the next 49 years, if we're lucky.

Being the 3rd best team in the state does have it's advantages, however. We can spend the holidays with family and friends instead of traveling to El Paso for a bowl game.

Hey Guys quit picking on Chrissy B! How would you feel if the only reason your team got an invite to the conference was because everyone else they wanted turned them down and they had to have someone and your school was in the biggest media market left. How would you feel if the only reason they invited you was so they could have enough teams to have a conference championship game. How would feel you feel if they said you can come but not as a full member for three years. Its kind of like the little brother who wants to hang out with his older brother and his friends, he will do anything, take any abuse just to pretend he is one of the big boys.

I am happy for Utah State and what they have done. They have a great program. I am happy for Chrissy B and his Utes, for some hanging out with the big boys and pretending you are one of them is as good as it gets. I say lets all be happy!

Until the PAC-11+U can actually win a national championship, winning that conference title is nothing special. In the BCS era, the only BCS conference to not win a national title is the PAC-10/PAC-11+U. USC's title nearly a decade ago was vacated due to cheating. Even the lowly Big East has a BCS title to its credit. Even if the PAC-11+U was capable of winning a national championship, the "mighty" U will never sniff a conference title. So get off your pedestal Chris B and go back to enjoying your losing record in the one BCS conference that cannot win games that count.

    Hey Chris B,

What is your mighty Utes record against that lame MWC school in Boise? I'll help you......0-4 since 1997. Who backed out of the BSU vs Utah series? That's right, the mighty U.

Until someone actually beats them, I will continue to assume that all Utah programs are secondary to Boise St. Boise is 17-0 vs the Utah schools since 1997. That is domination!!

    Mighty Pac 12 Utes, LOL!!

    Chris b.

That's the coolest story I've ever heard in my life, could you tell it again?

How can you dismiss San Jose State? Perhaps Fresno State and BSU have the biggest targets on their backs, but David Fales (who should not be left of a short list of good MWC QBs) and SJSU will not forget the loss to Utah State last season that cost them the WAC crown.

Chris B. Who cares how good the PAC 12 is against MWC?..what do you choose...last in the Pac 12 or 1st in MW? I would much rather be competitive in a lesser conference than the doormat in one where I can't effectively compete. Years of enjoying IVY league games where any of the teams would be destroyed by the Utes and USU doesn't make the IVY any less entertaining or worthwhile.
The MWC is a perfect fit for USU. I would dread seeing USU in the PAC 12, Big 10, SEC (all where Utah would have trouble too). USU has a fraction of the resources of the Utes and BYU (budget, revenue, fan base) which is what makes the occasional victory over them so sweet.

The WAC 2.0 and the PAC 11+u got to love it!!

    Right Chris B?

Ya USU is definately the second best team in the state,
    1 BYU
    2 USU
    3 SUU
    4 Utah

The utes barely squeaked by a better USU team on their home feild by the skin of their teeth thanks to a great onside kick. But thats what inferior teams have to do to beat better teams, trick plays. Gives lesser teams a edge.

I couldn't care less if you cheer for us or not Chirs B! We don't need nor want fans like you! WAC 2.0 really? Kind of like fans calling it PAC 11+U?

I'm proud of what our Aggies have done and hope this isn't a few years of good play. Hopefully we can truly turn it around.

    Go Aggies!
    Go Utes!

I would love to see them get it from the smurfs.
Boise was hammered by Washington, something that hasn't happened to them in several years. This is the year they need to get it done.

Kind words about my Aggies, but its far too early in the season to count the chickens... just play one game at a time Ags!

See you Saturday in Romney for homecoming.... then next week we leave for USC! I can't wait! We have been planning this trip since it was on the schedule!

    Go State!

I'll point out that the Pac 12 is currently 7-0 against the WAC 2.0(MWC) this year. Winning the MWC now is even less prestigious than it was before, and it wasn't even that prestigious before when TCU, Utah, and byu were a part.

I don't remember ever getting excited about winning the MWC. I got excited about top 10 finishes. I got excited about beating Alabama in a BCS bowl game. I got excited about undefeated seasons. But winning the MWC? Who cares.

But as excited as one can possibly get, I'll cheer for USU as the fight Boise for the WAC 2.0 title.

And I will definitely support USU as you continue to establish yourselves as the second best program in the state.

    Go Aggies!
    Go Utes!
