One of the things I love about the Gospel is that it IS simple in its covenant making and it "can" be simple in its covenant keeping. However, because there is such a myriad of different personalities on the path, the scriptures are full of complicated allegory. And to comprehensively correlate the ideas in trying to understand where we came from, why we are here and where we are going, and what we will be doing there, we can get bogged down if we don't stick to the basics. For me, I also love the depth and breadth and universality of the Gospel. Bottom line, "And this is life eternal, to know thee, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent."
