UFAN,It is because he committed very early to Utah. Before his Junior year
started. He was good, but wasn't nearly as good as he was his senior year.
It was in his senior year that he broke all the records.By the way, I also
saw Brandon Cox a few times. He is very fast. He can run away from a lot of
people. That is his strength. Not necessarily his arm.
bindependent:Thanks for the info. I'm excited to see his
progress and glad that we have him, regardless of who recruited him or that he
only had three stars.Go Utes!!
bindependentHigh praise. So why wasn't Conner Manning rated
higher than 3 stars and why wasn't he more heavily recruited?
I am an independent Recruiter in SoCal. I saw Manning Play several times last
year. He not only has a strong arm, but he can thread the needle with pin-point
accuracy that no other High School QB in the country could even come close to
matching. He also moves very well and throw on the run when needed. The
Utes are fortunate to have him.By the way, he broke every record that
USC's Matt Barkley set in High School.
Nice arm. It would interesting to see how close he could come to throwing a ball
over the south stands at LES.
Over the south stands? Wow...put that on the field it has to be 70 yards or so
through the air! Maybe I was wrong about Utah's future QB. I predicted Cox,
but if manning has that kind if cannon, he may be the future. Did they cone off
4th South going by the stadium so he didn't hit any cars, or did they think
he couldn't do it? Lol. Pretty impressive.
I hope Travis Wilson has a fantastic year and collegiate career with the Utes,
but I can't help but think it's Manning that will be "the man"
on the hill in the not so distant future.
Now if he would only do that in the BYU game then I would be impressed.Glad to see them have some fun.
great story, need to hear more things like this.
Dude has an arm!
