    I see in myself bits of both the prodigal and the other son who is equally significant in Jesus’ parable. People can make bad choices to follow self-destructive paths until one day when their eyes are finally opened to see where their choices have led them.

    Jesus didn’t tell us if the second son came to terms with his petty and jealous resentment of his wayward brother. I hope he did. The ideal ending to the story would be the reconciled brothers both growing old gracefully.
