When my daughter became seriously ill in Brazil and no diagnosis was
forthcoming, it was Primary Children's hospital that was the shining light
on the hill. PCMC that was the hope I held on to as I made the trip home. CF is
a brutal monster of a taskmaster and Primary's was a second home over the
years. They made it less scary to "go in" for clean outs and sick
visits. When it was time for her funeral the congregation was filled with the
doc, nurses, vampires (lab techs), child life specialists, etc. that she (we)had
come to know and love. They were and have remained a part of my family.
"Its 289-bed facility saw 5,274 impatient and 12,670 outpatient
surgeries...." I believe that should read 'inpatient'.
Primary Chidren's is #1 on my list of children's hospitals because of
the special care from the nurses and doctors, saving the lives of my children.
Three docs that stand out for our family are Dr. Dale Johnson, Dr. Jack Walker,
and Dr. Angela Yetman. Caring individuals with amazing ability, they have had a
huge impact on our family over a span of 35 years.
