    I agree, Cowboy Joe

This is a start, as the Deseret News has been strangely quiet on this particular topic, but I think the stuff with Shurtleff is as bad or worse than what Swallow has done. What about the $2 million he offered that McBride guy (which funds would have been extorted from some other shady character in return for favors from the AG) to keep quiet? I mean, seriously, this is the stuff you read about in mystery novels. It should not be reality. I'm not a guy who likes a trial by media, but at the same time, every news agency in this state ought to be tracking down the facts because when you're talking about public officials, elected or otherwise, the citizens have the right to know. I've been disappointed in the DNews coverage so far. The Trib is a much better paper for actual news, and that's coming from me as a very committed Mormon who makes most Utah Republicans look like socialists in comparison (as opposed to the "Mormon-hating-liberal" Trib reader stereotype). They have done a very good job in covering this important story.

Shurtleff, Swallow . . . . . how much other corruption is oozing around in the Utah Republican Party?

I remember Swallow running for Congress by saying he was a "Reagan Conservative." I wonder if the people who voted for him still believe this lie?

We can't be sure until all the investigations are complete if he is a crook or just unethical The variou newspapers in our state have pretty much already decided that he's very unethical.. However, we can be sure he is not bright or smart enough to be our Attorney General. He should follow all his previous bad decisions with a good decision.....he needs to resign.

Someone also should be talking about putting Mark Shurtleff in prison. How come the Deseret news doesn't report about the corruption in at AG office about both Swallow and his predecessor?

This is just the tip of the iceberg. When Utah politics is controlled by one party and one religion the corruption gets brushed under the rug.

    All is well in Zion!
