Actually with Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain continuing to expand, Mia Love just needs to bring out her base. She was extremely close to winning, it was an insanely close race. People like what Mia Love stands for, something other than the nepotistic advancement of people with the right family names that is what we get with the incumbant.

The incumbant votes against the best interests of Utah when it is neccesary, and just manages to act like he has the instests of Utah by voting against his party when his vote is not really needed.

Down with nepotism, elect new blood, elect Mia Love.

That is because Mia Love is a good person who isn't afraid to speak out even against those in her own party.

Re: Brown: I wouldn't say I "jumped to conclusions" I simply read where you claim to be from and thought that CA ment California. Now I can be bored thinking of what else it might stand for?

The media again uses a state lawmaker to punish John Swallow. This time it is Rep Ray of Clearfield who gets his 15 minutes of fame in the media spotlight. John Swallow should not resign unless he has done something illegal otherwise it is just a witch hunt mostly by the Utah media.Utah is not being shortchanged and the Attorney Generals Office is fully functioning. Mia Love has no chance of winning unless she garners more votes from SL County and Matheson is an incredibly capable politician with good instincts for Utah.

RE: Bored to the point of THIS.

What makes you think I am breathing California smog? I live in Utah. One shouldn't jump to conclusions now should they.

    RE: Esquire

Why should she call him to step down? Is she serving in the Utah House or Senate??? It is not about courage but about her professionalism. You don't hang someone while the jury is out.

Yes, Mia love is an incredible poster child for the Republican party…she is an articulate family-centered woman who happens to also be a minority. I have no problem with that. She is well qualified. She strikes fear into the Matheson supporters….he won by the skin of his teeth! She will get him next time.

Looks like the Matheson Drones are out in full force here today. . . We have a congressman that mimics Nancy Pelosi and that is a good thing for Utah. Can't understand why you would vote for him when Pelosi values are not UTAH values. What kind of rational is that? I like the stands Mia Love takes on the issues. I like her focus on DEBT REDUCTION. We need her voice in Washington. Good luck MIA!!!

Re Brown: Anything is a 'breath of fresh air' when you deal with California smog!

Mia Love is probobly a nice person. I don't know her personally to say one way or another. I do know that she's a 'show' candidate for the Republican party. She's alot like JC Watts was in Oklahoma. When JC Watts pushed for more opportunity he ran into the Republican party's self-impossed "glass ceiling". Watt's pushed back and then ended up "pushed-out" of the party graces.

I can see the whole "Mia Love" push for what it is. I hope she can too. I hope Utahn's can!

If Love doesn't have the courage to call for Swallow to step down, how much courage would she have in Washington? Doesn't look good.

"If the Republicans are in power, the Democrats become the obstructionists. It's interesting to watch which party supports what policies and the switch that takes place with a switch in power."

True to an extent. BUT not to the extent we see today.

Now, in the Senate, it takes 60 votes to move legislation forward. That has never been the way it worked in the past, nor was it designed to be that way.

If this is the new norm, our congress will never again be functional.

Mia Love was a breath of fresh air! Matheson is just riding on his family name. Go Mia!

Well, it's "unfortunate" and it's "disappointing" and it's "unproductive" and it's "unfair" and it's.....but nothing is going to change, is it? Mr. Swallow has drawn his line in the sand and no one with an "R" by their name is willing to do thing one about it. The Governor called for the investigation to end but we can all see where that desire has gone....nowhere, which is where Mr. Swallow is going in the meantime....nowhere.

Republicans better be careful or this will boomerang on them the next election cycle.

I've been watching national politics for 40 years. If the Democrats are in power, the Republicans tend to become obstructionists. If the Republicans are in power, the Democrats become the obstructionists. It's interesting to watch which party supports what policies and the switch that takes place with a switch in power.

I believe as you do; we need to elect people that will do what's right for the country, rather than follow the party line.

I wish Mia Love had been able to run against another tea party Republican. Thanks to the gerrymandering of Matheson's old district, I was able to vote for Matheson last year.

I'm sure that Mia Love's obstructionist views haven't changed. She seems to be hitching her star to the likes of Mike Lee, Ted Cruze, etc. We don't need another obstructionist in Congress--we need statesmen and women who will work to get something done.

Another reason not to vote for Mia Love.

I'm sure if you send each resident in the second district 100 fliers instead of 80 and robo call twice a day instead of just once, and if you buy every ad on TV instead of 25% you'll win this time Mia....

I'm a Republican and I agree with Love, I'm very disappointed in those who seek personal gain. Love is one of those seeking personal gain, I'm disappointed that she chose to clutter the election another time. I'll then have to vote for Matheson again and will put off a good candidate for yet another 2 years...
