In my experience, whenever I hear of some kind of disaster anywhere in the world, I also am aware that immediate assistance is received in multiple forms from the LDS Church. I am not a Mormon but it appears to me that because the LDS Church's assistance program is so well organized and prepared, this group is always among the first responders offering significant, meaningful aid. It is great that those groups and individuals who are so generous with their help, which includes all the faith- and non-faith based organizations, are recognized for their unselfish good deeds.

1 million lbs of food is incredible.

How long will it take for the tribune to pick this story up? when it does, you can bet it will be hard to find.
