When the Rebubs tell an untruth they are rightly called liars. When the Dems lie, it's a radical right wing scheme to discredit them. The looney left has a predictable defense, shoot the messenger. If Bush were responsible for Benghazi, the US would have been brought to a halt. Ms. Clinton said it happened long ago, forget about it. Yet the Dems are still blaming Bush for everything except the failure of the Yankees to win the world series. But they may come up with a theory about a broad right wing conspiracy to punish liberal NY.

Since when has the right cared about facts? They will use a fact if it helps with their argument while at the same time ignoring facts if it contradicts the same argument. The 47% thing comes to mind....47% don't pay income tax fact. Although most of those people are elderly, war vets, millionaires (yes millionaires), or hard working people that don't make enough to pay federal income taxes but work full time. But they ignore that and say "they are takers", "living off the government", "freeloaders". To say the right cares about "facts" as Mike says is hogwash.

What was the opinion of the writer? Recycling opinions of other newspapers in not "opinion". Are we to assume that Mr. Stevenson is not a paid journalist? Are we to assume that he is exempt from the rules of journalism? Are we to assume that the Deseret News is exempt from printing facts, when those facts make Obama uncomfortable?

The opinion section requires an opinion. ALL opinions should be based on facts. Readers should demand that there be opinions in an opinion article and that those opinions be supported by facts.

While I understand your point and do think this was rather weak journalism I would also point out it is actually in the opinion section.

Desperate times call for wacky methods by the extreme right.

It's always interesting to read what other news media are saying, but why not print an accurate account of what took place in the hearings? Why rely on other papers? Why not print the facts? Who. What. Where. When. How. Leave the "why" to the editorial writers and to the readers. With sufficient facts, don't you think that your readers have sufficient education to understand what happened?

Didn't stop Obama, won't stop Clinton. Good luck in 2024 repubs.
