Maybe, Alan, we could just warn our kids that there exist bad men and bad women and that they should be cautious. In that way, both gay and straight individuals could teach, lead scouts, etc...If you are saying that we should limit gays from dealing with children because we as parents are not taking the responsibility of warning our children that bad people are to be found in both genders and with both gay and straight people, I cannot agree with your logic. That responsibility needs to reside with the parents rather than with gays, most of whom adhere to appropriate boundaries just as most straight teachers/scout leaders do.

This is why people with same-sex attraction should be kept from involvement with young people. If her teacher had been a man, the student and her parents would have been much more cautious about the student's relations with the teacher. For the same reason, this incident illustrates the danger of allowing homosexuals to have leadership positions in the Boy Scouts.

It is my feeling that when female teachers are involved with students of the same or opposite gender if found guilty they seem in my opinion to be held to a lessor standard of punishment than male teachers found guilty of the same crime.
