trade 7 mil for 12 mil? that is what you call clearing the books. no way they are trading millsap they don't even know how favors foot will hold up. they could be playing him more min now but don't. hardly ever play the big three anymore. i would say they are limiting his min because of the foot.

Don't want D Will back. He had a negative attitude the months leading up to the trade and has fallen off the map. Don't want him back, don't need him. Jazz management obviously knew he would not commit to resign so they parted ways. The trade is looking much better on the Jazz end than the Nets.

No really, Milsap has been an asset to us. Why give him away for Kris Humphries. Seriously????

i agree with burks being PG and Hayward being the 2...and both of them alternatively would run the offense...because those two...are threats to drive for a bucket...or drive for a kickout or handoff...and with the right coach...we may be able to abuse them...this would eventually lead to unpredictable offense for opponents...meaning..we wont give it down low to big al or paul millsap 90% of the time...and yes...i agree that paul is great...and has done a lot...but i can only see him as a Carl Landry type of player...not really the best on the team...but someone you could rely on...and i just wish...he embraces the 6th man role...because he can dominate off the bench players at his position....and i hope the management wakes up...and starts the youth movement...the guys need the minutes to improve...Paul George improved because he gets 25-30 mins a game from the get go...

Paul Millsap has been an outstanding Jazz players with a fierce will around the basket for many years. I will be sorry seeing him go, but Favors/Kanter must get most of Millsap's PF minutes by the end of the year IMO. Humphries would make a nice backup PF, but the Jazz should try for a small forward who can shoot in return for Millsap or Jefferson. Also, Humphries might not be any better defensively than Jeremy Evans. I still say Burks is the Jazz answer at PG for the future, as unconventional as so many people think he is in that position. I keep telling people, it's not just the threat of him going to the rim or his developing outside shot, it's how smooth and accurately he passes without telegraphing. He and Hayward are ballers with good hands who will drive opponents nuts.

i dont like the trade for the team...but burks brooks hayward favors and kanter...should start next year...if this deal is done...but i do not like the prospect of Kris Humphries...they need to involve another team...like memphis...where we could get Ed Davis and probably austin daye...at least we get a backup for our bigs with Ed Davis...and a back up for our wings in Austin Daye...we give Paul Millsap to Nets...Raja and Humphries goes to Memphis...we could also get a few non protected 1st round draft picks...although we dont get an all-star back...we do get solid players to help our main core of Burks Hayward Favors and Kanter...once that done..we could try to move big Al...to get that young future PG that we need (which i doubt would happen...vasquez comes to mind though)...so that we could move brooks off the bench...and we get younger and deeper at the same time...yes we wont make it to the playoffs in the near future...but with the right coach...and chemistry...Hayward Favors kanter and burks can bring it

How many first round picks are they tossing in to make this an even deal?

Humphries makes 12,000,000 and has a year left on his contract. Millsap makes 7,200,000 and his contract is up this year. Maybe this would be a good deal for the Nets, but why we do it?

We can also trade Millsap and Raja Bell to OKC for Durant and Westbrook - but why would THEY do it?

Logistically a trade of Milsap + Raja for Humphries + Brooks could work out for the Jazz. Humphries would come off contract before the resigning of Favors/Kanter and he could come off the bench with Kanter. The question is if we see Brooks as being a long term contributor, he seams to have a a lot of potential though he needs to improve his 3P%. An eventual starting lineup of Burk, Brooks, Hayward, Favors and Kanter could be very promising long term.

Personally I would rather see Milsap stay with Utah as the veteran leader that remains and move Jefferson.

While I could imagine other trade scenarios that I would prefer (e.g. a three way with Clippers and Boston where we get Beldsoe), this wouldn't be as bad as it may seem at first.

Jazz can't afford a 4-5yr deal for Millsap at $10M-$12M/yr. They can, however, afford Humphries 1 yr $12M contract as it won't prevent Favors or Hayward (or Kanter) from being signed. Also, as an expiring, Humphries might be able to bring in something at the trade deadline next year.

Brooks seems redundant for Burks, although he is more of a shooter. I like Shenglia and would want him as part of deal and Nets to take on Bell contract.

No! PLEEEEEZE!! Not Humphries for Millsap! I realize this is a business and guys get traded, much to my dismay when I LOVE them as much as I do Paul. I don't want to see Paul leave, but I do NOT want to see Humphries return and not contribute very much. I hate the trade deadlines!

    Go Jazzboys tonight!!!!!

Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't our problem a glut of quality bigs? So, we're going to swap a really good one for a decent one? How does this solve any problems? Throw in Brooks and you've got . . what?

C'mon, guys . . be buyers, not sellers. Hold out for at least a borderline all-star.

I don't know if that trade would help the Jazz, unless we also get a good draft choice out of the deal also. Humphries numbers are up from what they were with the Jazz. However, he didn't have as much playing time with the Jazz, I do not believe. Milsap has always been a little short for his position of power forward. A couple of inches would have helped him become an all star. Interesting to see what happens. It is all talk right now, any way.
