    Jeez, who cares who recruited who and where so and so ended up. Wins are what matters, and if you recruit the best, but don't win, who cares? Amazing how smart some of you think you are. I wonder why if you are that smart, why aren't you earning the big check in pro sports somewhere instead of comments on Dnews? I mean, if picking Utah to go 3-6 or 2-7 in the Pac 12 makes you money, great. Otherwise you must think we all care. No one will remember if/when your prognostications come true. But hey, if it gets you all warm and fuzzy to HOPE the other teams fail, by all means keep it up. We need more warm and fuzzy!

    Gotta love the Diehard Utah Fans!

    EVERYTHING utah football has done since 2000 has been great!
    You did bring alot of attention to utah, and to mid major schools!

    Buttttttt. understand, your not a mid major anymore, you are in the Pac 12
    That is all good and dandy, but if you think this coming 2013 season is going to be any better then the last two. Im sorry but your mistaken!

    What does Utah have coming back this year? No JohnWhite, bad QB's, your two best defensive players are gone.

    I mean you should be 2-0 after USU and Weber state lose at Rice Eccles
    Then you host Oregon state-Loss
    At BYU,-I never know who could win this game. Byu is pissed still.

    Utahs first 6 games are in Utah. 5 home, 1 in provo.
    But no way in the world,Utah improves that much.
    Home-ASU-toss up
    @Oregon-Loss by 40
    @WSU-Toss up
    Home-Colorado- Toss up.

    Thats 6 loses in pac 12 for sure.
    3-6 in Pac 12 in 2013.
    Maybe 2-7.
    Goodbye Whittingham.
    To bad Andersons not Available anymore.

    Utah was the 2nd best team in the state. The cougars came in behind the Utes for the 3rd year in a row, and 8th time in the last 11.

    As for your "if the cougars had played another QB" nonsense, we heard that line last year too. Besides, Utah played that game without our starters at the QB, RB, FS, and SS position. Had we had those players healthy, and on the field, we'd most likely have had greater than the 17-pt 4th-Qtr lead that proved too insurmountable for your program to catch up to anyway.

    Chris B, I'd have to think it was because of the Pac12 conference and that's about it. I guess some feel playing for a team that plays in the pac 12 even though there the bottom of the conference is better than not. Whether they beat BYU last year or not, everyone really knows they were the worst team of the 3 main university's last year. If the Cougars didn't play someone with a broken back the game wouldn't have been close. And no I don't think BYU was the best team in the state last year, close but Utah State was the best in the state last year even though BYU beat them. You don't always judge a team by some games they lose, sometimes the team there playing plays much better than what they are, and sometimes a team plays bad and loses, but it doesn't mean there not better than the team they lost too. Take for instance Utah and Colorado the other year. So please get off your high horse and realize it's because of the conference and that's it!

    Maybe they are smitten with playing Colorado on rivalry week?

    Maybe the 3 in a row or the 8 out of 11 meant something to them as the only remaining thread of legitimacy but every other possibility you listed is getting smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror as your mighty team solidifies itself as a lower tier PAC entity. Maybe they prefer to spend the holidays at home so they chose a school where the only bowl game is in September. You know, the 2 birds with 1 stone thing.

    Maybe they just wanted to be in awe of Stanford and Oregon this year as they give you a dose of reality worse than the doses of your two previous PAC seasons. Couldn't be the coaches because after a 3rd consecutive year of PAC basement dwelling they'll likely be gone. (If the Huntsman Center is any indication, Ute fans drop their sports like a hot potato after a few consecutive years of obscurity.)

    Remember Chris, objects in your rear view mirror are smaller than they appear to you. Be sure and let us all know when your team actually beats a PAC team with a winning record.

    As expected, Utah won the in state recruiting battle again. I wonder if it has to do with 3 in a row, 8 out of 11, 2 undefeated seasons, 2 BCS wins, a BCS conference, BCS quality coaches and teammates.

    No, probably just coincidence
