BYU is a better team when it recruits from New York, Alabama, Canada, Brazil, Croatia, etc. If they are going to give all of their scholarships to Utah HS players, they should be content with playing to Utah fans, only.

Zags are clearly at the top of the WCC. Cougs and Gaels are in a battle for second and third place. Saint Mary's was one second better than us in Provo. Bopefully we can "rebound" against them on their court. Personally, I'm not too worried about "rebounding against Portland". A loss to anyone other than Saint Mary's and Gonzaga might be "unsettling", but a loss to Zags is not.

No shame in losing to the thenth ranked team in the nation.

"Not sure why this article titles the loss unsettling"

Unsettling because Tyler Haws had only one point...

That mean, awful Gonzaga bunch with their mean, awful refs! I mean, how else can you explain getting manhandled in every phase of the game and losing by 20 points?

    Darn WCC refs.

i was frustrated at the lack of calls against gonzaga's pushing and physical intimidation toward the cougs. it worked, gonzaga got into the head of the cougars. tyler haws received an elbow to the head and the player seemed to do it in a way that i felt was intentional. it has to be hard to play your game when the referees disregard fouls and let the play continue. the cougs must play hard in the face of disrespect and elevate their game and not be intimidated ever!

The Zags have 2 first round NBA draft picks among their starting 5. And Pangos has a good chance of being drafted as well. They have a bit of a turnover problem, but if they can fix that, they'll go deep in the NCAAs.

If BYU's "stars" continue their selfish style of basketball they don't stand a chance of beating the Gaels or the Zags in their next meetings.

There must of been a GREAT number of bad calls to account for a 20 POINT smack down.

I kept saying that the best way to silence the haters is to win consistently, especially against top competition. I long for the day when that will happen, but considering the fact that we don't attract the top talents in the nation, I'm happy to see that we're still able to compete and do fairly well with the talents we have. Hope next time will be different against the top dogs of the WCC. There's still a chance to redeem ourselves! I hope we will! I dread the next wave of mockery and ridicule from the likes of Chris B and his/her cahoots if we loose again against those two teams. Then again, maybe it don't really matter because they'll mock us anyway regardless.

Go Cougars! And good luck to Utes too!

WCC reffing is suspect. Inconsistency at best sums up the biased appearance of league zebras. Coach Rose subtly made his point on this noticeable fact of lack of calls on zags in first half.

Not sure why this article titles the loss unsettling. If anything this was anticipated, if not expected. This years team has (in my opinion) overachieved if anything. And to Chris' point, the next team to make the Big Dance may very well be Weber State. Utah State had a chance until the injury bug began biting.

Chris B. proves it always classier and better to be a cougar. Thanks ChrisB for making it obvious.

Is it better to go 1-4 againsts the Zags and St Mary's, who both went to the NCAA with us?

Or is it better to go 0-4 and lose by double digits to Montana St, UNC Asheville, CS Fullerton and Weber St.?

Coach Kryst's record this year will once again be worse than Boylen's worst year at Utah.

One classy team beat another. Only a bitter fourth grader would find fault with this.

    Go Cougs!

In your dreams, christina, ONLY in your dreams.

The Utes would be doing well to make the HS Boys Class 2A playoffs.

Don't worry guys. You'll win the WCC tourney still and still make the big dance. I mean, after last year's record of 1-4 against ST Mary's and Gonzaga, no reason to think you won't beat both of them, on back to back nights, come WCC tourney time.

And Dave Rose wins the conference tourney most years anways, whether it be MWC or WCC, right?

The next team to make the big dance from Utah,

    will be Utah.
