The Stain clearly knows nothing of USU's scheduling practices. USU trades off between Weber State and SUU every year. Keep dreaming in vain that the bigger universities in this state fear the blunderbirds. Newsflash: they don't.

Chris Petersen didn't have head coaching experience when he took over at Boise State and everyone thought he would fail. They were dead wrong. And they could very well be wrong about Wells, too.

The USU that used to be unable to beat BSU is long gone. And since Kellen Moore left BSU, the playing field has been leveled considerably. Besides, Joe Southwick pales in comparison to Chuckie Keeton.

When all has been said and done, clearly it's the Stain that doesn't know what he's talking about. How was binge feeding on crow all season long like?

Stain logic = Utterly and appallingly abysmal

Welcome back Sambone. What took you so long? Typing fast I may have missed it. Wells learned from Anderson and Wells doesn't have head coaching experience. One big reason USU can't compete for the title. It's BSU and the fact that USU couldn't beat BSU when they were in the WAC. Now USU is the new kids on the block and BSU is a veteran in the MWC. Oh yes SUU sucks I know that's what you think. Why didn't you schedule us for 2013? Oh that's right, Anderson is gone and Wells doesn't have the experience Lamb does. Sorry but you don't know what you are talking about. Only time will tell just how bad USU will be with a new coach.

Once again the Stain betrays his true knowledge of Aggie football.

First of all, it's spelled "Andersen." Second, Andersen didn't start winning a lot of games until Matt Wells showed up, and Wells is the new head coach. Not to mention we have over 70% of our starters returning next season, so I don't see why the Aggies can't compete for a MWC championship. Also, USU, SJSU, SDSU, FSU, and Nevada are all solid MWC teams that can easily compete with the Broncos.

And no matter how you slice it, that team way down south still Su(u)cks, Stain.

You don't have Anderson anymore so only time will tell who is right. If it wasn't for BSU the MWC would be weak. While #22 in the BCS is impressive USU is still a joke when it comes to the BCS.

    @ Stang08
You are the ChrisB of USU
and you have the same outcome of your predictions, you are wrong.
all last year you were talking smack on the Aggies and how they were not going to win.
    #16 AP
    #17 Coaches
    #22 BCS

    keep on predicting

I am glad that Boise and SDSU decided to stay in the Mountain West Conference. They add a lot of strength and value overall to the conference.

I gotta say though, Boise has lost a lot of their zip on offense since Kellen Moore left. USU is in a strong position to legitimately challenge them next season! (Either us or San Jose State, come to think of it).

New conference title game and as usual the aggies will be on the outside looking in. I mean as long as Boise State is in the MWC USU doesn't stand a chance.

USU will get 1 for 1 now that they are in a stable conference and are no longer on life support. The Cougs have a bigger scheduling need now than the Aggies.

    John S. Harvey:

USU will get 1 for 1 when they increase the size of their stadium... it is about the money for both schools.

I guess we could hold it at a "neutral site," like Rice Stadium in SLC, on a day when the Utes are out and losing to another PAC-12 team.

I doubt BYU could re-join, even if they wanted to. Not until some else moves on. If BYU was going to jump back in they would have needed to do it before Boise or San Jose came back. There is no space left.

As a USU fan I'm happy they are independent. No desire to have them in the same conference. We'll likely continue to play them for a long time to come as it is. Which is OK by me as long as we can eventually get rid of these 2 for 1 deals. Once the current contracts play out we should just say 1 for 1 or no game.

This is great for USU and SJSU. Good thing they bailed out of the WAC. I feel bad for Idaho and NMSU, though.

At any rate, it will be awesome to watch USU re-ignite some of these geographic rivalries.

    Chris B

That is funny coming from the 5-7, no bowl, uterus. I guess the Uteys are the Bantam on the Ute Football Conference. Utes and Ute Football Conference, get it. Now that is funny!

I agree with Cougar fans on this one ... Chris B, you have it all wrong, BYU won't crawl back to the MWC.
However, the reasons listed above are all incorrect ... it's because the MWC is full. It's now at 12 institutions which is the perfect number while they try to prove they're a top level conference (particularly in football). Splitting money with any more institutions would be walking into the same mess that was created with the 16-team WAC.
I love the look of the new MWC and wish that conference (and USU) well.

The BYU vs. Hawaii game scheduled for Dec 7, 2013 will probably have to be moved, since the MWCC will hold its playoff game on that day between the winners of the Mountail Div. and the Western Div. of the conference. Idaho State is tentatively scheduled to play at LES on Sat. Nov. 16, 2013, which was tentatively scheduled to be Middle Tenn. State at LES. BYU has 4 open dates, all on Sat., Sep. 21, Sep. 28, Nov 2, and Nov. 30. They will have to schedule the Hawaii and Middle Tenn. games on two of those dates. BYU can also elect to play a 13th game, since they are playing in Hawaii, unless the Hawaii game is cancelled. Anything can happen, inasmuch as each of the MWC teams will play 5 games within their division and 3 games with teams of the other division of the MWC, a total of 8 games. I wonder if Hawaii will want or need to cancel the BYU game because of this development. It will be interesting to see what happens. I don not look to see BYU's schedule finalized very soon. Holmoe is probably on the phones 24/7. Good luck, Mr Holmoe. Hope you get it done soon.

I really hope to see the Aggies continue their upward momentum. I can't wait to see them kick some Bronco rear and win a conference championship.

    Go Aggies!

Look for Provo High to go with its tail between its legs back to the MWC within a couple years.
