Well, the USA is a super safe place to live. There will never be a need to defend yourself or have a civil war again and 100% of good people trust the government 100% to protect us. No other Countries will ever invade the US. Oh wate common sence kicking in... stock up!

For those of you who love gun control laws, move to Chicago where guns are banned. You will be safe there, right?

The main headline in the paper this morning said something to the effect that Utahns oppose President Obama's gun plan. For the sake of balanced coverage, how about a story that indicates many Utahns applaud President Obama's efforts to rein in excessive gun liberties in America? Believe it or not, we're not all crazy gun nuts here in the Beehive State.

This kind of paranoid behavior is another indication of why we need more screening for mental health issues before anyone can purchase a gun.

But seriously, many people with violent histories of domestic abuse, many active gang members and others who probably shouldn't be anywhere near a gun CANNOT be restricted from owning and carrying a weapon. Why? They haven't been convicted of a felony.

Misdemeanors don't count. If they are arrested carrying a gun, the gun must be returned when they are released.

Should one aspect of all this be a look at expanding the rules to include violent misdemeanors in the list of offenses that will prevent a person from having a gun?

Why is Obama attacking law abiding citizens. Go after the criminals not the responsible.

I did some work with a "gun enthusiast" and there was just no reasoning with him. He was convinced that the government was going to take all of his guns, and once the guns were gone the American population would be enslaved by the despotic leaders. No amount of logic or evidence could make him see things differently.

He was getting all of his information about life from media out lets that were just echoing all of this own beliefs. Good luck getting to this crowd.
