"Sounds like a few of the posters on this thread are a little more giddy about the fact that the players are white than that they are Utah kids."

maybe you should at least wait until a "few" posters actually post something relevant to your statement before you actually say it. because right now i only see 1 post that involves them being white.....and that poster isn't very "giddy" at all

If Dastrup signs, the Cougs have a legit shot at a Final Four in about four years.

Sounds like a few of the posters on this thread are a little more giddy about the fact that the players are white than that they are Utah kids. Sad. Still, good for Lone Peak and it's great to see HS basketball alive and well in Utah. Gives hope that the blood sucking club basketball programs haven't destroyed the sport yet.

"I wonder what is different about Lone Peak that would make the experts downgrade their ranking?".

I know exactly what they're thinking. I was watching a basketball movie a while back. I thought I heard something about "white men can't jump". Well, our Haouli boys from Lone Peak prove them wrong LOL! Keep up the good work boys. I am a proud follower.

    Go all the way.

Cael Sanderson won a high school national championship as have several other outstanding Utah high school wrestlers. Cael even won four NCAA titles, an ESPY, went undefeated in college, became an Olympic gold medalist and just led Penn State to its second straight national title in wrestling. I don't want to take away anything from Lone Peak accomplishments because this is very cool, but Utah's wrestlers have been doing a lot nationally for many, many years in relative obscurity.

Nice job Lone Peak! You guys have worked your rears off and you are representing your community and your state well!

Best of luck on the remainder of your season!

Kudos to these kids! They deserve the rank with a fitting name (Lone Peak) to boot! Can't wait to see these guys in Cougar True Blue! ...not that other devilish blue ...LOL!

If you go to the website for the City Of Palm Classic, then go to the link for the News-Press Coverage, they have the best coverage I've seen. People letting people know who, if anyone, is streaming it. There was a typed play by play for the Chester game.

Congrats. Have a big fan in AZ. I have to admit I am very impressed. BYU should be very good when these guys are there and into Rose's system. Looks like great Chemistry. Teams win games not one player. As much as I wanted Parker I am not sure he would fit into this team. Can't have one cylinder out of sync.

Keep going Lone Peak. Great for the state of Utah and BYU.

I wonder what is different about Long Peak that would make the experts downgrade their ranking? There must be something different about the players?

These kids will be remembered in Utah sports annals for a long time. It's just too bad that Utah fans can't enjoy watching them compete on a national level.

Pretty cool to see a group of kids that have such good chemistry and focus. They play intense defense and enough cannot be said of how well they are coached. They play unselfish ball too. Emery hits daggers when he needs to, Haws is really scrappy and Mika dominates. Then Shumway and Toolson and other players step up and do a lot of things that people don't notice, but they are great players too. They are representing the state well.

They obviously have great players but to be this dominant against these nationally ranked teams you have to have good coaching, too. This guy obviously knows what he is doing. Look how his team is keeping opponents scores so low. These kids really know how to play defense.

I didn't even hear anything about it on the 10 o'clock news. That's crazy. And who was questioning the legitimacy of them being ranked 1. They have crushing every team they have played. And a lot of those teams were also ranked. Don't blame Jabari Parker for choosing Duke, but can you imagine him joining these kids at BYU? That would have been sweet!!
