    Thanks for the Lillard Watch. He is showing that he is a young solid player with a huge upside. I noticed that there wasn't information on minutes and turnovers. Do you know
    how many minutes Lillard played in each of those games? Also, what was the number of turnovers from him in each game?

    Weber State actually is on a Hill as well. :)

    A quick click over to the Ogden Standard Examiner Sports-NBA section online and I found 3 articles involving The Sacramento Kings and/or Jimmer Fredette on the first 2 pages and ZERO since November 17th about the JailBlazers and/or Lillard, yet not a single comment from Ute fans complaining about the disparity or clamoring for more Lillard news.

    Jimmer vs his PG competition so far this year...

    The following is based on starter minutes (30.4 avg) for the Kings as of Dec 2nd.

    Jimmer's stats are listed first, followed by the "starter" Brooks, then Isaiah:

    Actual minutes: 10.5 vs 22.9 vs 18.7

    At 30.4:

    Points: 18.2 vs 10.1 vs 13.8
    Assists: 4.1 vs 2.3 vs 2.9
    Turnovers: 2 vs 1.2 vs 3
    Steals: 1.7 vs 0.3 vs 0.8

    Rebounds: 1.5 vs 2.4 vs 2
    Blocks: 0.3 vs 0.1 vs 0
    Fouls: 1.7 vs 3.2 vs 2.6

    2-pt shooting: 48.8% vs 49.2% vs 48.2%
    3-pt shooting: 41.7% vs 39.2% vs 37.5%
    Free throws: 88.9% vs 50% (career 84.6%) vs 84.6%

    Salary: $2,339,040 vs $3,250,000 vs $762,195

    With Jimmer getting about half the minutes of the other two, it's obvious he's doing better with the few he gets.

    Brooks is obviously not earning is pay, and Isaiah's a bargain. But Jimmer's their future sans future acquisitions.

    Ah but the coach knows what he is doing and continues to play the guys who continue to lose games. Gotta love these coaches, who get paid big salaries and don't know how to manage a team.

    SportsFan is correct, news is driven by interest. With the Deseret News's new online business model, clicks are king. That's why we see so many repeated stories and issues that attract clicks. No longer is it "If it bleeds it leads." Now it is, "If it clicks, it sticks."

    Oh, please no, DN Sports Department. I don't need to see weekly "Jimmer Updates." Don't worry readers, I didn't take the time to read this article, aside from the article title. Allow me to say that as long as he remains on the Kings, the entire season will be an "up and down" season for him .... just a hunch!

    The Hill? I thought Lillard played at Weber State?

    Here's the Lillard Watch:

    The Trail Blazers played five road games last week, only winning at Cleveland. Lillard also struggled on the east coast swing, especially against Boston, but got back to form at Cleveland. Here are the stats:

    @Brooklyn (Started) 13 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds
    @Detroit (Started) 12 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds
    @Washington (Started) 20 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds
    @Boston (Started) 8 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds
    @Cleveland (Started) 24 points, 11 assists, 6 rebounds.

    Total Stats: 18.8 ppg, 6.2 apg, 3.30 rpg 43% field goal percentage.

    The Trail Blazers close out their road trip at Charlotte and Indiana before returning to host Sacramento (featuring the DesNews man crush Jimmer Fredette). Lillard is still getting a lot of attention for rookie of the year.

    @sportsfan and Uteanymous

    Sorry guys but me not caring about the Jimmer watch has nothing to do with The Byu-Utah rivalry... Good try on starting an argument on here though. I understand the game enough to know that I would look rediculous to try and belittle the cougs basketball program when they have ran the utes of the gym the last couple meetings. So before you puff your chests and get your panties in a bunch realize that i'm not taking blows at the Y...

    @Henry Drummond

    "It's a sports section and not a fan club" took the words right out of my mouth. Every week it's the same thing on the "jimmer watch" We understand he's on a poor team and playing poor minutes. Nothing has changed since last year. Why write about that every week when Lillard is doing something pretty amazing. Coming out of Weber state and being one of the top candidates for the Rookie of the Year award.

    Sound someone saying Lillard doing great which is good for him.

    I say FREE JIMMER and let other nba team find some usefull need.

    Sounds like jealous Utah fans are still smarting over being Jimmered during his last visit to the HC.

    It looks like previous posters have beat me to the punch. Lillard is a leading candidate for Rookie of the Year while "The Jimmer" is a leading candidate for a team in Europe. This is supposed to be the sports section, not a fan club.

    News is driven by interest, which is why Alex Smith stories still appear in the DN, even though Alex hasn't done anything of note since leaving the Utes 8 years ago.

    It's funny how our jealous little friends on the hill whine about the "Jimmer Watch," when Jimmer hasn't even played his first full season in the NBA.
