Hatch is a perfect example of why we need term limits. Seriously, why do we continously support career politicans?

    This is great.

Palestine will get the recognition it has long deserved...and we'll stop funding the stupid UN.

    Double win! Thanks Orrin.

    @Ricardo Carvalho:
"Both the Palestinians and the Israelis need a place to call home."

What would you suggest? Both Israelis and Palestinians occupy the same territory and claim it as their own. Mayhaps one or the other group can move in with you.

"Nor am I a fan of sending Israel $8.4 million a day."

How do you feel about sending Egypt millions... and all the other foreign aid we send around the world?

I say, if a country needs money they should go to where we go for money, since we're broke... China.

The Jewish people paid a high price with at least 6 million dead in World War II. The United Nations took their plight and allowed people to leave Europe for Israel and then made the partioning happen. They got their own country but others want the benefits of all the people in Israel have done with their land. They are not nomadic and want a society with peace and happiness. However, the others have not blended into that process. The Egyptians and Lebanese keep on fighting with Israel. Israel isn't trying to take over those lands. The Palestinians want to live but the outside forces want to split and divide those people living in Israel.

The hatred for the people of Israel is far and wide. Why would Iran want to annihilate Israel with other borders between them and Israel?

Senator Hatch is doing the right thing. The United Nations is a power we pay for that wants to divide our country and put policy into place inside our country. They are not a ruling power or have authority in many things that we don't sign up to.

He is a statesman and has done significant tasks for us.

The United States should end all relations with the UN no matter what! kick them off our soil and have that corrupt organization moved to France.

The United Nations like it's predecessor had principles when the day they started. However, we can't even get agreements in our country for lasting peace and with all those political sides of nations. Those diplomats have blended into the process of having very high paid jobs for them and all their entourage. The Security Council high end countries and others even had influence in the past. Now, our Ambassador there was the fall person for the President going on national networks with worldwide publicity for Benghazi. Her status even fell at that time.

As noted, it has been draining our economy in New York, nationally, and our reputation internationally. They don't pay and when we are late or owe back money due to our committments they throw that to the world.

It has lived beyond it's means forever. Most of those employees have benefitted with the very high diplomatic salaries but look down on us and publicize that anyway they can.

Their written plan, documents, etc. when we started the United Nations sounded great but have fallen into the unread or archives for using sentences not principles.

This President wants to lead the UN next.

The UN is an anachronism. We have been funding 80% of it for decades. Time to get rid of this money pit. What have they done for US lately?

I disagree with Senator Hatch on this issue. Both the Palestinians and the Israelis need a place to call home. We, as a country, need to facilitate a solution - not pack up our toys and go home when we don't get our way.

The United Nations has become a giant system to enhance the objectives of non-democratic states. The ability of Russia or China to prevent taking action against Syria, or Iran while at the same time promoting causes such as the Palestinian extremists should be enough reason to withdraw USA funds from this organization, particularly as we seem to provide the majority of it's financial income. When the Palestinian organization and leadership verbally extoll the attacks that occurred in the past couple of weeks and the UN does not as a united body show it's outrage then what good is it.

The UN is contemplating taking over administration of the Internet. With Countries such as China and others that do not allow free access having a say in the current open format, and the possibility that they would impose fees by a non-elected government agency that would usurp the powers of the US Congress is further reasons to consider distancing ourselves from this Quasi-governmental institution that would then have non-representative ability on our laws and principles.

Mr Hatch, the United Nations was formed to bring countries together.
Your divisiveness is what's wrong with the world.

.....AND, there are NO "good guys" in the Middle East. Every religion claims the same land, claims they are true, and won't let bygones be bygones.

Let 'em work it out without our help.
