    FB Fan#2,
Thx for the tip. I am a fan of these young men, not so much some of the coaches, but certainly these players. I am thrilled for this shot James is getting. It is not only deserved but well earned.

    @ ChrisB

Wow, I actually gave you a like on your comment. I think I'm about to have a heart attack! You know what ChrisB, I wish BYU fans and Ute fans would come together and cheer for each other when they are not playing against each other. Why can't that happen? Why can't the state of Utah unite (including Utah State) so that Utah can come into dominance. I think it would be good for everyone involved. What say you?

    @ Amorphous,

The game is going to be streamed online at the ESPN3 website, it's not on TV as for as I know. That's the only place to watch it, hope that helps!

Good luck to James Lark & the Cougs. I hope you tear up the Aggies & make it difficult for the coaching staff to not start you in San Diego as well.

    Go Red,
Just when I was about to comment on how something positive like this brings out the best in fans, you have to chime in with your waste off space comment. Nice.

Regarding the legitimacy of the competition, it's certainly not James' fault that this is who his first start is against. I watched his career in high school and know that he is light years better than that now. He has the talent to fill the air with touchdowns and drop dimes all day long. Only problem down here is that our cable doesn't have ESPN3. Looking for a place to watch the game!

Get ready for some nicely thrown balls and accurate passes. I don't know if we can handle it.

Playing the two worst teams in college football over the last three weeks, Bronco could probably start his mother and still win. Big deal.

I'm looking forward to seeing Lark start. He deserves it. And I hope he throws for three touchdowns!

Better late, than never; regardless, it's nice to see James get a chance to start a game.

What once was a great quarterback factory has turned into a quarterback exterminator.

Good Luck Lark, its to bad we couldn't have watched you play somewhere else the past four years.

Lark may struggle with the Riley doman offensive we stole from the 1973 Texas longhorns. Let's send this offense and Doman to grad school with grits.

"Offensive coordinator Brandon Doman said the game plan won't change much with Lark under center."

Oh great, does this mean we're going to ask him to run the ball 20 times?

Ok, Cougars, here it is--I predict a WIN for the Y. Yes, because you are actually starting a QB that IS a QB. And, of course, New Mexico is hardly the U. So, never say I don't say anything positive about bYu. The only thing that might create a problem is that you still don't have an OC.

Good for you, James! It may indeed be too little too late, but light it up!

Some of our loyal fans need desperate relief! They've gone from anger, through bitter, past paranoia.

It's a miracle! As much as this makes sense to do, I am still surprised Lark will FINALLY get to play. I hope Lark does really well and leaves the program with something to hang his hat on. Obviously BYU will win, but I want Lark to put up big numbers. However, even against New Mexico State, if Lark has a sweet stat line, it won't help Doman's sentiment with many a Cougar fan. If Lark would have had a shot in a meaningful game in the last year or two, then there would be as Bronco always says, a "reference point" to go by. Here's to Lark playing at a higher level of consistency. No, but seriously, best wishes from this Ute fan Mr Lark.

Doesn't sound like Nelson is "Probable" to start anymore, as Bronco previously stated. That is good. Glad to hear there may be a few powers that can push Bronco around a bit. It would be interesting to know if that "power" comes from fan fire or leaders in higher places. Go James .. and good luck! We'll pull for you, even with all the poor coaching and direction of this Bronco era.

I'm not going to hold my breath on this one. I'll wait until I actually see Lark take the field for the first snap. Then I will believe that he is going to start this game.

    Re: Teddy Bear

I don't disagree, but if anything I am just happy to finally see someone else, anyone else, get to play QB besides Riley Nelson. It will just be a relief to see someone else out there.

Against a 1-win team, we have to expect a big game from Lark. And when he has that big game, it won't tell us anymore about whether he should have been a starter sooner. This game is akin to Idaho-hardly a measuring stick for QB performance.

I just watched two BYU/Utah rivalry games when Doman was QB. Now I know where Nelson got the rediculous idea that the QB draw ought to be the #1 play. Doman did it far too often and even fumbled in key drives. BYU should have run away with the games, but squeaked out the wins in spite of the Doman game plan. Please, Lark; avoid the QB draw like the plague. It is not your best option. Nelson mistakenly believed in Doman. Go for choices #2-4 in your option plays where QB draw is #1.

Dollar to a donut Doman and Bronco keep it on the ground 75% of the time. NO WAY they can risk Lark, in the final game of the year to throw for 500 yards, even against inferior competition like New Mexico State. After the appalling fiasco at QB this year, there's simply no way they'd risk letting Lark look like the QB who could have (and should have) been inserted into the starting lineup 9 games ago... Count me as one of the LEGION numbers of old-time faithful BYU fans who's been disgusted at the irrational bromance between Bronco, Doman, and an inferior starting quarterback. With the once-in-a-generation defense that BYU had this year, this season could have been special had we not relied on a QB whose every weak gimpy pass was an interception waiting to happen. What a waste of a year. What a waste of an opportunity. Andy Reid-- BYU needs you!

If Lark does well, it will not reflect well on Doman. Best of luck Lark, go get em!

Good! Finally someone else gets to play who, by the way, is also a good character guy who doesn't deserve to sit any less than Riley does. All I hear about is what a great character guy Riley Nelson is. James is just as great of a person as Riley is.
