Uh, so you're a BYU, Utah, and Weber State fan? USU plays these teams pretty consistently. You're a fan of many schools Stang! The good news is that although you might root for whoever plays USU, your Thunderbirds aren't ever going to win. So I'm failing to see why you even bother commenting.

"And FYI yes I root for SUU." And thanks for clarifying that. All of us were wondering, as if we didn't already know the obvious.....

Don't be a coward and come to SUU and find me. And FYI yes I root for SUU. And anyone who happens to be on USU's schedule. I'm a die hard SUU fan and love to see anyone who plays USU beat them.

SUU has more fans than USU now, huh? Now that makes sense. So what you're saying is because USU was excellent this year, that they will be horrible next year? Hmmm, considering how many starters are returning, I would rethink that statement. Maybe next time before you comment, you should actually read up on the facts, bro. Also, so now you're a Utah and BYU fan? I thought you rooted for SUU? Is it because your team has no chance of beating USU that you're now rooting for them? I guess it's too bad that USU has a better chance at beating those two teams now than they ever have. I'll tell you what, when SUU and Jordan High play, I'll meet you then. How does that sound? My money is still on Jordan....

I think if you saw the game on Aug.30th you'd see we have more than one fan. Which is more than you guys. What is it now two or three? This year they are but next year could be very different. As in BYU and UofU continue to beat you. I really would like to meet you. How would you want to meet?

Not that all of us don't know it already, but everything you say makes no sense. It's quite comical actually. For example, you complain that our team is 10-2, 6-0 WAC champs, ranked, and going to a bowl....makes sense. Your team got pummeled by ours, isn't bowl eligible (have they ever been?) and has one fan. I'm failing to see why you have any credibility. Any negative point you bring against USU means that SUU is just that much worse, times ten. You can keep commenting but our team is still the best in the state and yours is just plain horrible. But if you want to keep going, feel free to give us more reasons to laugh at your illogical reasoning.

Stang is desperately trying to stay relevant considering the Aggies have made him a pumpkin-face time and again this season.

Any bowl is better than no bowl. It's best for the program at this time and it will help build additional regional interest in the Aggies, so I have no complaints.

We aren't a garbage FBS team because we are WAC champions, Stang. The Aggies are on the rise, and even an irrational hater like you can't deny that.

I don't know where Andersen's son would have gone to if Andersen wasn't head coach, but neither do you, so it's a moot point.

Oh yeah, and Andersen repeated again he isn't going anywhere after the game was over. Happy days for Aggie football.

And it's spelled potato. You remind me of Dan Quayle, Stang.

Lets go Aggies! Thats how you handle business boy. Stang you're a hater with a severe inferiority complex. Grow up. It's hilarious that you attempt to deflect questions but fail to show any intelligence in your childish rants. For someone who hates the Aggies you sure do talk alot of trash on their article boards. If its the fans so what OSU/Michigan game has even more rowdy and disrespectful fans so good luck with that arguement. If you just go off records then SUU is horrible. I'm just using your logic. I can't wait to see what you say next so I can make you run in circles.

    Nov. 24, 2012 7:42 p.m.

All the attacks from the two same people when your teams going to a bowl that no one know's exists. No I'm not saying that but I know you don't understand what I'm really saying The A Game. I really don't read the articles unless like week 1 you played my team. Look at Sambone, yes I do. You do care or you wouldn't say anything to me would you? Here is more nonsense, the aggies will lose the patato bowl just like they did last year. Ask yourself this Sambone, would his kid be going to USU if he wasn't the coach? If Lamb leaves SUU will go back down hill I know it and everyone else knows it. We aren't a garbage FCS team. What's your excuse at the FBS level?

  • Sambonethegreat Logan, UT
    Nov. 24, 2012 1:00 p.m.

I'm enjoying the ride Andersen has provided for us. His son recently committed to play for the Aggies, so I don't think it's out of the question Andersen will stick around at least four more years. Those significant pay raises he gets are good incentives, too.

Oh and Stang, what if Coach Lamb leaves? Then SUU is back to being a garbage FCS team. See? I can speculate, too.

  • The A Game Sandy, UT
    Nov. 24, 2012 12:26 p.m.

So what you're saying is that you love the Aggies so much that you can't help but read every article online about them? I knew it. You're one dedicated Aggie fan. And no you don't make us mad, but you give us a lot of good reasons to laugh. You act like we actually care what you say when in reality we just enjoy watching you say nonsense.

  • Stang08 Cedar City, Utah
    Nov. 24, 2012 12:02 p.m.

No I'm not man. What part of I hate the aggies and comment to make the fan's mad don't you understand? They will when a new coach like Guy comes in. Even you have to admit my birds could've beaten your aggies under coach Guy.He won't until he actually leaves. Whatever his plans are it starts with getting a job at a better school. Why act like such a child? SUU is way better than you think buddy.

  • The A Game Sandy, UT
    Nov. 24, 2012 8:47 a.m.

You seriously stay up until one in the morning reading these things? Wow you truly are a die hard Aggie fan! I knew you had it in you. And until SUU or Weber actually beats USU, I wouldn't speculate much. And like I said before, Gary hasn't said anything about leaving. If he does then he does. Either way, I highly doubt you know his plans better than he does. So has SUU planned a game with Jordan High yet? I'm planning on buying tickets.

  • AK UTE Palmer, AK
    Nov. 24, 2012 12:40 a.m.

I hope he stays but I think he is leaving. He is a great coach loved him at the U and wish he was still there. Unfortunately if he leaves USU will drop out of sight again too bad I love to see that program doing well.

  • Stang08 Cedar City, Utah
    Nov. 24, 2012 12:34 a.m.

So you admit he won't stick around. I knew you had it in you to say I was right. Did I say my opinion was worth more than anyone elses? No that was your words. The point is Anderson won't be around much longer and the aggies will go back where they were with Coach Guy. And then teams like Weber and SUU can beat them.

  • The A Game Sandy, UT
    Nov. 23, 2012 10:38 p.m.

Stang, coaches seldom stay at one school their entire career. It's not news. At some point in time, Gary will most likely leave and all USU fans know that. However, fans understandably want to keep him as long as possible considering the incredible turnaround the program has taken because of him. When Gary officially announces that he's leaving, then he's leaving. Until then, he's still the coach at Utah State. It isn't necessary to think your opinion is worth more than any other person who sits and speculates.

  • Stang08 Cedar City, Utah
    Nov. 23, 2012 8:53 p.m.

OK you just keep thinking that. We are talking about Anderson and with what he has done up in Logan he will most certainly go to a bigger school and have better talent to work with. Look at Urban Myer going from at the time a gret Utah team to a great Florida team. Same situation and no one can deny it.

  • The A Game Sandy, UT
    Nov. 23, 2012 9:24 a.m.

Pretty sure Jordan High could beat a few Big Sky teams Stang. And yes, that includes SUU.

  • Sambonethegreat Logan, UT
    Nov. 22, 2012 11:25 p.m.

Your point about a coach wanting to be at the helm of a better team would be a valid point only if Andersen was given the reins to a better team right off the bat. If he gets poached by another school, chances are that school fired their coach because of poor performance and Andersen would have to re-build the team at that school.

He has already poured his heart and soul into USU football (he cried at the end of the LA Tech game), so why start over when he can accomplish even more with his pet project? And he gets annual salary increases, so that doesn't hurt either.

And no, the Big Sky is most definitely not better than the WAC. The WAC's top three teams in just football have gone a combined 27-6 this year to date, and The Big Sky went 6-87 last year against FBS competition in all sports. How many of those victories were in football? Like two or three at most.

I doubt the Big Sky conference record is much better this year. Care to refute me with legitimate evidence?

Also, Andersen has an Aggie tattoo. That's loyalty.

  • Stang08 Cedar City, Utah
    Nov. 22, 2012 8:49 p.m.

But you think he WILL leave right Sambone? Of course he said he loves Logan. I love Logan too but if you are as good as him you want to be at the helm of a better team. And for whoever said the thing about the BigSky, it's better than the WAC.

  • Sambonethegreat Logan, UT
    Nov. 22, 2012 1:45 p.m.

I doubt Andersen will go anywhere at least for a few more years. He has three sons, one of which is currently in the program, and possibly two more coming in next season. He also consistently talks about how much he loves Logan and (fulfilling a bet made last season) got a Utah State logo tattoo on his shoulder.

Even if he does leave, he will have left the program in better shape than how he found it.

For what it's worth, if Coach Anderson leaves, it will be back to third place in the State of Utah for USU. I think he is a good fit but I really know nothing about his character except what I here from friends in Utah, which hasn't always been favorable. Hoping for the best for USU.

"But this proves you are a closet fan."

Of the Thunderchickens? Ha! I literally had no negative feelings towards them until you started showing up on everything Aggie related all of the time. For claiming to not be a closet fan, you sure like to show up everywhere that has to do with the Aggies.

Besides, I liked the Aggies even when they weren't good, so that finishes off the not a true fan argument you repeatedly keep trying to use on me.

I bet you were not even a fan of the Thunderchickens until you attended SUU. And I doubt you were there when Andersen was coach for one season.

And by the way, the Big Sky record against FBS schools last year was 6-87. Great conference there, Stain.

Gary Anderson's success at Utah State is a perfect blending of his coaching abilities and Utah States hunger to exit the 50 year football wilderness, this is not something you would want to try and duplicate elsewhere. His many future years at USU will prove what a great match this is. Go Aggies!

  • Stang08 Cedar City, Utah
    Nov. 22, 2012 12:42 a.m.

Here comes Sambone right on cue. Yes he was and he didn't do well. I wa sure you didn't know SUU existed then. But this proves you are a closet fan. I'm not a closet aggie I was just telling it like it is. Anderson will be going to a bigger and better school soon.

"He already coached my team and didn't do a good job."

Weak argument. He was at SUU for only one season. Then he got promoted to U of U defensive coordinator.

    And the rest is history.

  • Stang08 Cedar City, Utah
    Nov. 21, 2012 5:08 p.m.

He's leaving in a few years. He's a good coach and a better team will most definetly get him out of Logan and in their town soon. Before Sambone and others say anything, no I'm not refering to my team. He already coached my team and didn't do a good job. That's why he's in Logan until a big school get's him.

  • Superzero Farmington, UT
    Nov. 21, 2012 11:17 a.m.

Andersen is gone. His sons can transfer. Everything he has at Logan is avialble somewhere with the addition of more money and a BCS conference. He most likely already said yes and the annoucment will come after the Idaho game. The real question is will I want to renew my season tickets next year?

You USU fans remind me of what we (Utah fans) were saying right before Urban Meyer left. And frankly, what Gary Anderson is saying sounds just like what Urban was saying. You can deny it all you want, but trust me: I've been in your shoes.

All the reasons you gave for Gary to stay (loyalty, family, locale, etc.) were all the same reasons Urban had to stay....but he didn't.

What do you expect Gary to tell the press? "Yep, you nailed it...I'm out of here"? No, he'll be saying how he's USU's coach and he's not going anywhere else, blah blah blah....right up until the moment he gives his office keys back to HR.

Such is the nature of the working world - when you can get tons more money at a higher-profile job, that is hard for a competitive person to turn down. And Gary Anderson is a very competitive person.

Nice job at USU, Gary, and good luck at your next endeavor.

Although John L. WAS a very good coach, he is nowhere near the man Andersen is, and GA will keep his word. As for the 4 million reasons to leave, he has a much better reason to stay and be able to coach 3 of his sons at the college level and build his legacy (as Ironmono said). John L. was/is always looking to make a buck and will leave at the drop of a hat like he did at USU and Weber. The Aggies will continue to roll and Andersen will be the engineer. GO AGGIES.......

  • Ironmomo Ogden, Utah
    Nov. 21, 2012 7:23 a.m.

It will be interesting....do you stay and try to build a legacy of teams over the years or do you take the money and run.
Several years ago USU coach John L Smith jumped ship and took the money at Louisville, then again at Michigan State a few years later. In September 2012 he declared bankruptcy.

Sometimes the grass is not that much greenier on the other side of the fence....

I can name about 4 million reason why he wont be there next year, wanna hear them?

  • Aggie84 Idaho Falls, ID

BYU can only hope he goes away since Gary will be taking many of the players BYU use to get. DN can hope he goes away because if he doesn't people will want to start reading articles about the nationally ranked team up north. Little brothers grow up and older brothers, well, get old.

  • VAggie Bristow, United States
    Nov. 20, 2012 8:35 p.m.

He's staying in Logan. His sons are going to USU, and he has a chance to make something amazing happen here, and he know's it.

  • Aggiefootballfan Salt Lake City, UT
    Nov. 20, 2012 8:22 p.m.

The USU football job is not the stepping stone it used to be. A lot has changed in Logan. 1. Administration that supports football. 2.Upgrade in facilities. 3. Competitive coaches salaries (still need to bring up assistant salaries) 4. Conference Stability ( MT West) 5. Winning Program!! 6. Top 25 ranking 7. Chuckie is only a sophomore! Depth and talent on the o and d line!, young and talented Linebacker core. As good as we are this year, we have a chance to be even better the next couple of years. A player like Chuckie Keeton doesn't come a long every year (decade). The next couple years are set up to be special. Coach A has said from the day he got this job that Logan and USU has every thing he needs to be successful. He says he loves it in Logan and I believe him.

  • Justmythoughts Provo, UT

Andersen has said many times that he isn't going anywhere. He loves Cache Valley and he is turning USU into a great program.
