I don't think the black guy doing the sucker punching is Joe... he has earrings in.. I know BYU Football would not allow that...

I watched the video. Clearly the girl who was punched tried to break it up. Same as with the kid who wrestled the other player to the floor who was then sucker punched over and over again. I applaud BYU for standing up and making the right decision here. The players are going to be lucky if they aren't arrested and prosecuted. There are plenty of witnesses there and if they were innocent they wouldn't have run away when the police came.

Being suspended and being kicked off the team are two different things. They were suspended, and then chose to withdraw from school. .

Joe threw sucker punches? Didn't look like that to me. How many of you if you had a friend that was just taken to the floor in a head lock wouldn't come to his defense? Punished yes but being kicked off the team and kicked out of school NO! We can't hear what happened so you don't know who started the fight and what was said. I could hardly tell who was who. It was a fight and nothing more, these guys are in college and young and we've all had our scuffles when we were young. All you who never made a mistake when he or she was that young, stand up. To judge what happened without being there is stupid, it must've not been that bad when no charges are going to be made. No other school in the country would have kicked them off the team, they may of have to sit for a game and that would have been more of a justified punishment. No wonder we have a hard time in recruiting!

It looks to me like Stout was in the middle of it, but joe was just trying to be a peacemaker.

Zac did not hit the girl. You need to watch it again, its the guy in the black shirt (he is not a player on the team). And give me a break, it's just a fight. Boys get into fights all the time, yes, even at BYU. This was not that big of deal, and posting video of it is only making it bigger than it should be.

Terrible, why not be above this guys. Sad you let so much slip away over anything that could possibly be going down at a cheap (but good) Mexican spot late at night.
I guess this means Ross Apo is the only one left from the great press announcement from one of our greatest recruiting classes.

Bravo to BYU for dong the right thing and not allowing athletes to get away with wanton misconduct.

In many schools, if the culprit is a good athlete, they would simply ignore the offenses as long as it helps the team.

Thuggish behavior and criminal assaults should NEVER be tolerated, otherwise it encourages others to behave the same way.

I have no desire to see them graduate from any college, and really hope that they never even get considered for any sort of professional sports job. Good riddance, indeed!

Looking at the time of the incident...I guess the kids didn't have an early class that morning.

Nothing like seeing a series of sucker punches and cheap shots. Getting kicked off the team was probably the right punishment, but I think a more severe punishment would be to make all those involved wear a head band and pink shorts like the kid who body surfed the salad bar.

    Rise Up!

Hope both of these two straighten out whatever they need to, comeback and graduate, regardless of football.
