The only team that going bowling that has a shot at winning is Utah. Let's face it although BYU is good they won't win a bowl this year. And USU is a joke. Yes they have an undefeated record but when it really matters like last year they will choke.

I love how Utah fans dish it out when the Utes are doing well, but get so hypersensitive when the Utes fail to live up to expectations.

The obvious reason why BYU fans continue to bring the smack is because one game does not a season make, and despite BYU's recent losses to the Utes, BYU continues to finish with better overall records, more conference championships, and more Top 25 finishes.

If Utah has better coaching, please explain why Kyle keeps losing to teams Bronco would never lose to - 10-loss Colorado, 10-loss UNLV, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado State.

I love all the Utah haters here! Here's the deal, Utah will go bowling, and they will win their bowl. I do not know if they will win the game this saturday or not. I love that BYU fans still bring the Utah smack even after losing to Utah time and time again. BYU has lost to every good team they've played this year, and they lost to Utah as well. (Utah was not a good team at that point in the season. The same goes for Utah, the difference is, Utah beat BYU. Utah has better coaching across the board, with the exception of Assistant head coach Reynolds at BYU (he should be the head coach, he was offered the job before Bronco and the offer was withdrawn when BYU media personnel were en route to his home to give his first interview as the head coach. I would still be a supporter of BYU if they had hired Kyle or Lance instead of Crowton, and I lost all respect for their athletic program when they handled the Reynolds head coaching offer the way they did. That man is a saint for staying.

I agree that they are more likely to finish 5-7 than 8-5, however, I would predict more that they go 6-6 and do go to a bowl game. Probably lose the game and finish 6-7, but 7-6 wouldn't be a surprise either.
It would be great if they make a bowl and win though. And then BYU and Utah State would also need to win. It would be great to have all three teams win bowl games.

"BYU, Utah, Utah State could all go bowling in 2012, but where?"

    Easy answers:

BYU will be playing in the Poinsettia Bowl
USU will be playing in the Famous Potato Bowl
Utah will be playing in the Couch Potato Bowl

Find proof before you talk about how bad the WAC is. ESPN has the WAC at 7th in conferences, 1st for the non-aq conferences. CBSsports has them at 9, 3rd in non-aq. Far from being the worst conference. The WAC is better than the MWC this year. Both have garbage teams at the bottom, but the top 3 in the WAC are much better than the top 3 in the MWC. LT > Boise St and USU is better than the rest of the MWC, San Jose State would be solid there as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if USU would beat Boise St. this year, wouldn't be surprised if they lost as well, but they would compete. The WAC is having a great year in its final year. I would say that outside the MAC, which is the best non-aq, the WAC is number 2.

The reasons why U start slow and end "strong" are obvious - U play good teams to start the season and bad teams to end the season.

Utah is more likely to finish 5-7 with no bowl than 8-5.

    Washington 31
    Utah 17

    Mark it down.

btw, even at 6-6, the Utes are unlikely to go to a bowl. What eastern bowl in their right mind would invite a 6-6 team from the west that doesn't have a national fan base and doesn't travel well to minor bowls?

    Down Under,

I guarantee we win out from here and go 8-5. For whatever reason we start slow, but can't be stopped once we get going.

    Utah 34
    Washington 21

    Mark it down.

Blue, have you seen LT play? Wow, they are amazing, especially at home. I've watched parts of some of their games and they are something else. They have a way better offense than anyone in's not even close.

Don't beat your chest too much...being champion of the WAC this year is not something to be proud of. They are the WORST conference and have teams playing who have never been D1 before. This is the last year ever of the conference, and next year they just go to the new WAC. USU won't beat LT, but will probably go to some bowl because so many teams are having bad seasons. Hardly anything to shout about.

For now, next week's game against Louisiana Tech is all USU can think about.

A win against the 18/19th ranked team will make the Aggies WAC champions and help them catch a great deal of national attention. Looking forward to a great game nest week!!!

If Utah loses to Washington, nobody will project a bowl game for them next week. But, if they win, their bowl prospects will increase appreciably.

It would be interesting if USU ended up in Shreveport and Louisiana Tech in Boise.

BYU and USU will be bowling this year. Utah will end the season at 5-7 with a narrow win over Colorado and will be watching from the sofa, wishing they were still in the WAC where they might be .500. Sissy B, mark it down.

I would bet a lot of money USU ends up in Boise. Boise wants the Aggies, the Aggies want Boise, and the Aggies are eligible and available. Word is many Aggie fans are already buying tickets as well. Unless they are invited to a very high profile bowl, I doubt the Aggies pass up the easy trip to Boise in exchange for a place like Shreveport. The University is on the hook for bowl game tickets and Boise is place Aggie fans can and will buy a lot of tickets, they will not in a place like Shreveport.
