BYU football: Questions still abound for high-flying Notre Dame

Unless BYU takes Nelson out of the game, there is no reason to play the game. It is a wasted trip, wasted money, and wasted time on everyone's part.

I'm not saying Lark would win it either, but I'm tired of just throwing the season away, knowing we are losing every good game.

Bronco wants to win, but is unable to do the things it takes to win. Training and teaching Heaps was the right course. He had the skills and potential to be one of the best BYU ever had. This will be proven the next two years in the mid-west.

Hiring Doman was a nice thing to do, but not the right thing to do. Holmoe has no vision for what to do, and BYU is destined to be a good team forever, but never great like they were "sometimes" under Lavell. Often BYU was good, very good, and once in awhile great. Now, they are just good. Might give some great team a good game for 1-2 quarters. But that is Bronco's legacy. Great man, too much time in Covey's books.

Read a book on offense. Bored.

    @ Broom Hockey

Not only can't you beat Colorado in SLC last year, now you don't claim your most ardent supporter---Chris B. Nice spin job (or should I say "sweep?")

Yes, and you are a Ute fan. It would be nice if both you kids would grow up.

It seems to happen on both sides, the minute a new Utah article is posted there's a few of your fans that are quick to post, so don't get too upset. And although I think your predicting too many points for the Cougs, your also predicting too many points for Notre Dame in my opinion. The Cougs Defense is respectable and I see them keeping it close. Final score prediction 17-9, Notre Dame. @Broom Hockey Champ, don't get your hopes up.

The only real question is How many turnovers will Riley Nelson commit?

I think BYU has a chance in this game. BYU won't come out and kill ND, but I think they keep it close and end up winning. Call it a hunch. To BYU's advantage, ND just got out of a hard fought game that went to OT against Stanford. Also, ND has a tough game against Oklahoma right after BYU.

By the way, you guys realize that Chris B is a BYU fan pretending to be a Utah fan, right?

Please excuse my little sister; she tries hard, even though her predictions have become a good luck charm for the Cougars.

Wonder if Bronco will profess his love for Riley? I think he will propose after the game.

Start Lark and use Nelson as a wildcat. What do we have to lose?

Or start Nelson and after he turns the ball over 3 or 4 times and gets crippled by the ND defense, let Lark come in with a 21-point deficit.

    I can hear it now:
"Well it was a tough game. We played well except for a couple of turnovers. Their defense is really great."

Thanks again chris b for your continued obsession with all things BYU. You should get a job in the proofing departing at the DNews, since U are the first reader of almost every BYU sports article. Just curious, are you still smelling roses for your Utes? Do you think they even have a shot at a bowl game this year?

I think the Cougs defense matches up better with Notre Dame's offense than they did with the Beavs. Our DBs are better than they's been in the past, but they got burned a few times against OSUs potent passing attack. And you have to admit, OSU go all the lucky bounces.

BYU will hold Notre Dame to less than 30 points. The big question is, will BYU's offense be able to score on Te'o and company? I'm hoping for a lucky break, but realistically, I think Notre Dame gets this one 28 - 17.

BYU should win 5 in a row after this one (including the bowl game), and finish 9 - 4. I usually don't like rematches, but I'd love another shot at Boise St in the Poinsetta Bowl.

The only question for Notre Dame on this one is:

"How many points do we want to score?"

    byu's alabama-like defense was Exposed!

I already can't wait for Saturday
