It's an uphill road for Grantsville in the playoffs if they want their rematch with Stansbury. First round Juan Diego, if the Defense can play like they did this game, then the Cowboys have a chance to keep it close, and make an upset. If they beat JD, then they run into Hurricane again and must beat them to play Stansbury again, assuming they (Stansbury) win the High-Scoring match up with Dixie, and if Union doesn't pull an upset first round. Here's a Cowboy Fan that wishes the Stallions and Cowboys good luck in the playoffs! Looks to be a very intense contest in 3A! Alot of teams could win it all!

There were definitely some questionable calls in that game. The personal foul on the first field goal attempt stands out as one.

No one ever said that Grantsville didn't play well. Curtis Ware called an excellent game defensively and Grantsville followed it almost exactly how they were supposed to. It didn't help the Stallions' case that they played their worst game of the year, but the Cowboys played very well. Stansbury was just the better team, and the better team almost always finds a way to win close games like that. If I were a high ranked team I would hate to play Grantsville in the first round of the playoffs. They're a good team that could surprise some people.

Curious Calls? The only bad call of the game was that no-call pass interference in the end zone that costed the cowboys a TD. Look at the replay on HUDL.com and you can clearly see the defender hit the receiver before the ball even got to him. Stansbury fans just whines about the officials "helping" because little Grantsville almost beat them. Grantsville Defense was the reason the score was so low... it wasn't because Stansbury played flat all game. Give the cowboys some credit!

Rivalry games are almost always closer than anticipated, and last night's game was no different. This was an awesome game start to finish. Grantsville came out very ready, but fell just short. Officiating was very inconsistent, and both teams fought like crazy. Glad I could be a part of that amazing atmosphere.

Seriously, I don't think that the person above me knows how rivalry football works. It's completely different stuff. Those games have nothing to do with ranks, it has to do with how each team plays. Stansbury played flat all game and the score proved it, grantsville played the game of their lives and also had a little extra help from the strips. If anyone knows the story between these two they'll know that that was a great game. Stansbury had 2 wins that night, one against grantsville, one against the refs. which grantsville is famous for having questionable officiating. Heck of a game by both teams, if grantsville plays like that they can beat anyone, if stansbury plays like that, they'll get hammered by anyone.

Good job Stansbury. You beat the #4 Team from the Region by ONE point. Grantsville Cowboy Football is for real this year. It's not that Stansbury didn't play well, it's just that Grantsville has finally found their tempo. Stansbury escaped with this one, you got to give credit for #19 Tarl Lewis, freshman kicker for the Cowboys, and No.6 Kelby Landon, who hasn't taken a snap until the 5th game of the season. Last night showed that Grantsville is a team to be reckoned with and that Stansbury isn't as good as they think they are. Grantsville 13, Stansbury 14. Cowboys are for real this year, and so is Stansbury! Great job to both teams last night, it was a fun game to watch. COWBOY PRIDE!!!
