isrred, that's your logic, not mine. You missed the "and" in my comment. Matheson voted 80% of the time with his party of big government control, something I am strongly against. Government dole and control will never find ground in the hearts of freedom loving people. Just get use to it.

I'm excited to see Love debate Matheson. There are many misconceptions about what Mia believes, and I know this will give her the chance to clarify. I know he'll hit it out of the park every time for the win!

To try and tie Jim Matheson to Nacy Polosi is a joke. The republican mentality of you are with us or against us is why they have no credibility outside of the reddest of red states (Utah). Mia Love may win in Utah, not because she is a great candidate, but because the district has been gerry-mandered to make it more republican, and many in Utah walk into the voting booth and vote R regardless. I will be listening to the debates with great interest and I hope the best candidate does win.

Let's cut to the chase. The majority of voters in the fourth district will vote for Mitt Romney. Do you, the voters in the fourth district, want someone in the House of Representatives that will support Mitt Romney and his agenda only 20 percent of the time while he votes the vast majority of time with his fellow Democrats? Would you not rather vote for someone in the House of Representatives who will support Mitt Romney and his agenda 100 percent of the time? You have a choice to make whether you choose to be represented or not. What will you have? You may not like everything about Mia Love, but you can be assured that your vote for Mitt Romney will not be undercut by her. You can also be sure that Jim Matheson will not support Mitt Romney on anything of substance. Voters of the fourth district, if you support Mitt Romney, vote for Mia Love. If you support Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party with it's extreme agenda, then vote for Jim Matheson.

    "Matheson voted for TARP"

So did Paul Ryan. Guess you won't be voting for him for VP either if that is the basis for your voting

Mia Love is quickly losing what respect I have had for her. Her approach to politics is starting to sound like the same old rhetoric that we have heard so many times before.

Hopefully those of the Utah 4th District will take the time to compare what Mia has said and what she has done, as mayor of Saratoga Springs. Clearly she has no ground to stand on when judging Rep. Matheson.

Perhaps she can come back a few years from now when she has a lot more experience, beyond being a city council member, and then mayor of a small bedroom community for not even a full term.

Matheson voted for TARP and "obamacare." Enough said.

There is pattern across all political contests, candidates in the lead want to limit public debates and potential gaffes that can only hurt their chances and those trailing with nothing to lose push for more engagements.

It is no surprise that the likes of Love, Cooke and Howell whine about the need for more debates while Matheson, Herbert and Hatch ignore the demands,

"She's offering ideas that don't really offer constructive solutions. She's actually advocating policies that are going to hurt people," he said.

As if the current policies of our government are not hurting people, many of which he supports.
Spend and spend, tax and tax like there is no tomorrow.

Its pretty simple. If we don't have the money, we should not be spending. If we have to borrow the money, then the interest will end up killing us. And he doesn't think that is hurting people?

Keep spending the money to send kids to college so they will be really deep in debt when they graduate - and can't find a job?

Fleece the taxpayers and give some money to police departments so the federal government can pull the attached strings and control what they finance. While battling crime is a good thing, using this method is foolish and "dangerous". Support your local police - and keep them independent!

Sending the same old people back to Congress who got us into this mess by not believing in "limited government" will give us the same results.

He has had his hand in my pocket long enough.

Mia Love is correct. Jim Matheson does not speak for Utahns in the fourth congressional district. He has voted over 80 percent for his party and will deviate only when he might get in trouble with his district. He is a Democrat that will caucus with his party. A vote for Jim Matheson will be tantamount to a vote for Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama. It will not serve the majority of voters in the fourth district at all. They will have wasted their representation in Washington by voting for Matheson.

Jim Matheson is a good fellow, but... to win he must speak like a Republican and stay away from the Democratic positions. It's hilarious to watch his campaign ad about how he wants to cut spending, trim waste, be frugal... and his president, his party, his minority leader think just the opposite.

I'd like to hear more than the debates scheduled because it will likely take that many debates to pull out of Jim any real differences he has with Mia. Are they really that far apart as both are claiming???

And don't get down on Mia for these supposed extreme ideas... they aren't. I've met her. She was neighbor to my daughter and fam and is a darn good person. Let's not get all silly about minor things. This is likely to come down to whether or not we really think Jim can represent us better as a Democrat or is a Republican party member going to be more effective.

Doesn't it seem like the Republicans keep coming out with guns a blazin but have no bullets in the chamber. After one debate, love will be glad she only has 4 of them. Has zero credibility, just like Mitt Romney, just like the republican party.

Wow, its pretty pathetic to try to claim that 3 television and one radio debate are not enough and that you are 'ducking' debates. Its this kind of ridiculousness that continues to get Republicans who aren't hard line right wingers to vote for Matheson election after election. I've voted for him, would again if I were in his district. This is not a constructive way to try to unseat him, because the argument is ridiculous.
