The last General Conference talk given by Sheri Dew was very insightful as well as inspired. She explained, as only she can, that men and women are not in competition against each other but have specialized talents that when combined are powerful and vital in furthering the work of the kingdom.

Much of the world are tangled in a debate over issues that separate the genders and each are competing for the supreme spot in the human race. The prophet Joseph Smith tried to convey an understanding of equality that exists when each gender concentrates on their individual strengths and works in harmony to make a whole. Men without women are useless and women without men are lacking.

Many contend that LDS women are second class. A century ago the complaint was that LDS women didn't know their place -- some of the first female doctors in this country were LDS women. I am so grateful for all that women do.
