    @ UteRealist

    1. USU is a smaller school 2. Has a smaller stadium 3. Logan is much more difficult to get to for out of town fans than Provo or SLC. The numbers reflect these more than it does the quality of fans. USU as a whole is improving. Heck in 10 years (due to differential tuition, better teachers, new building, and Wharton partnership) I predict the Huntsman school will out preform the Eccles and Marriott Schools. I predict USU will also have a competitive in-state football, and dominant Basketball team. But those are just predictions.

Wildcat is the only one that makes sense. We were shocked Thursday. The aggies are in for a huge shock next week against the Utes. Credit to them though. They played a great game. Better than I thought.

As an SUU fan who was at the game, several observations:
    1) USU, great team, great QB, well coached
    2) Great Fans and a fun place to watch game. It may not be the biggest, but rich in tradition.
    3) If Sorensen had even played a decent game SUU would have made this at least a 14 point game. It is never one persons fault but he had a lot of guys open that were just plain overthrown.
    4) With #4, USU's DB's are terrible! As mentioned, if SUU could had hit their receivers it would have been a better game.
    5) Special Teams: If there is one area where SUU was superior, of course they had lots of PT. Credit to their Punter and Deep Snapper who were put in very tough positions. I beleive the DS is a true Freshman as well, very impressive!

UteRealist... are you really a realist?

It is true that there weren't as many Aggie fans as there could have been, but I bet that if the Aggies continue to win games (especially if they beat Utah), the culture in Logan will be begin to legitimately change the way Urban Meyer changed Utah football back in 2003.

    Count on it.

"AND don't act like you fill RES weekly. Historically you are 1 loss away from being 2/3rds full and getting free game tickets at Subway!

Not sure some of you realize that free tickets have not happened in years. The stadium has been filled beyond capacity for the past 5 years and all the seats are already sold out the rest of the year with the talk of expanding right now. That doesn't happen with giving away free tickets. The last time the stadium was 2/3rds full was in 2002. When was the last time Romney was 2/3rds full? Boise, BYU & Utah in town?

SUU is a stronger opponent than Northern Colorado and there were standing room seats only.

My father played for USU in 1962 and their little stadium held 26,400 and it was packed every week and I guarantee Logan was smaller back in 1962 and USU was not 20,000 students back then and they still competed for fans with Utah and BYU.

The only reason the stadium may be full next week is because thousands of Utah fans will be attending. It isn't because the Aggie faithful will be there.

I am a huge Aggie fan but have to agree somewhat with UteRealist.
While I was not able to attend the SUU game, I will be at the rest of the home games, at BYU and at Wisconsin.
The team as well as Anderson and Co have done their part, Aggie Fans... get your butts in the seats! Its not that far to travel. We traveled well to Boise last year.. come on... lets fill Romney Stadium for the rest of the season!

Now... @ UteRealist, don't be getting too cocky, look at the size of Logan and 17,000: compare that with SCL and 46,000... not quite as as bad now is it?! AND don't act like you fill RES weekly. Historically you are 1 loss away from being 2/3rds full and getting free game tickets at Subway!

You Utes better bring it because USU and Aggie Nation will be there next week and we play smash mouth football!

@ UteRealist: Don't let your head over inflate...it was SUU...and it will sell out due to our fans its not like we give the away team many seats...so get real...weird, I thought you were a realist? Let the field talk no your mouth...nice to know you care enough about us to troll on our page haha

Only 17,000 fans at the game? That is ridiculous on the part of USU fans. This must mean that there are very few USU fans at this point. With 46,000 at Utah and 64,000 at BYU, there must not have been any fans left.

USU is doing everything to upgrade this football program and the fans don't care. I will be in Logan next week. If it sells out, it has very little to do with the lousy USU football fans. You have a good team, show them some love.

    Great Win Ags!
1st game, and there are always areas to improve, but way to go!
Chuckie looked sharp, receivers were catching passes, O line did a great job.
The defense was tough, I still think the secondary was a bit shakey, but in my opinion it always has been.
Looking for a huge intensity change next week when the Utes come to town.
I think Utah is in for a game.

I think the state of Utah has some pretty good quarterbacks. Five of the seven starters have played already, with four blow out games to start their seasons. I don't know about Snow's new quarterback, but he didn't need to perform well, his team won 66-0 even with a sub-par QB performance (one RB touched the ball 7 times for 113 yards and 3 TDs, so why throw?). Sorensen is better than this game shows, but his team was playing an opponent at a different level than they were used to.

Here are the QB ratings with one game under the belt for the five state of Utah QBs who have played so far (Hoke and Robles to come on Saturday):

    Keeton (USU)200.5
    Nelson (BYU)154.3
    Wynn (Utah)149.6
    Stewart (Snow)89.5
    Sorensen (SUU)73.7

I must say I was impressed with Keeton's passes down the field. I didn't know if he had a good deep capability judging from last year, but he only got to throw the ball about ten times a game last year, so who knew. Matt Wells play calls looked pretty good and kept the defense honest.

SUU is a good team, so that is a good credit for USU. Next game will be a good measuring stick. I think it is going to be a good game. Liked the new uniforms. I hope Kennedy is alright.

We certainly know who was the better QB tonight. In the first quarter it didn't matter where USU started with the ball Chuckie was going to drive down the field and score. Contrast that to Sorensen who looked dazed and confused all night as most of SUU's 1st downs came from Aggie penalties. The game was much more lopsided than the score indicates.

The Aggies still have a lot of areas to work on before the Utes come to town, but it certainly was nice to start a season with a strong win. Go Big Blue!!!

those junior high refs were terrible......that hit on Kennedy was late and a helmet to helmet. I couldn't believe it.

I thought Sorensen would be a little more impressive. He was overthrowing everyone including the Cuban government. Maybe it was just first game jitters. Keeton was on fire, 22-26 in passing, 304 yds and two TD's. Joe Hill looked great to.

    Great game for the Aggies!!

    Good luck to the T-birds.

Stang08: "I'm not ashamed to admit Cal will kill us. But for you to think USU will do the same is dumb. Sorry but I don't see it your way. You'll find out just how good we are in less than 24 hrs."

I did find out. Unfortunately, so did you. Can't say I never told you so. Like I said, an above-average FCS team is no comparison for an above-average FBS team.
