Ann Romney knows as much about Mia Love as I do. Nothing.
    Ann Romney should stay quiet.

I do not live in Utah, but saw her on a Foxnews show and I was totally impressed with her. She is very articulate and has a lot of spunk. Utah would be lucky to have her, I would love to trade her for the monopoly idiot who is in my area.

Mamma C.... which party has balanced the budget before as proof they mean what they say...... I am looking for the candidate that comes from a party that really does have credentials doing that - not that claims that someday they might do that if everything is perfect.

Would you hire someone based not he fact that they claim they would do something even though they have never done it before even though the opportunity for them to act in the past has been there. From 2001 to 2006, it was theirs to do what they will. And they did nothing. Nothing about health care. Nothing about immigration. And nothing about a balanced budget.

I am voting for Mia Love. I don't even understand why people vote for Matheson. He is not on the side of local control. He is on the side of more and more and more and more and more and more taxation -- big government control.

Imagine that. I was wondering if she would endorse the other candidate..... but I guess not.

Thank you Deseret News for bringing on this news flash. My day is now complete as the blindly obvious has finally been stated. And your coverage of Mia Love's opponent, is where? What page will I find that on?

Balance? Non-Partisan? Reflecting the views of your ownership?

At least I guess you don't claim to be "balanced and fare" like FoxNews. But still......

    @ Heater

Maybe if you would read the article again you would see the reporter says first African American WOMAN. It's not shoddy reporting it's shoddy reading.

"Women across the country are concerned for our children's futures," Ann Romney said. "Will our children be able to find jobs and will they be faced with burdensome debt?"

Yeah Anne- we all worry about that. Especially if your husband gets elected.
Jobs? Sure if you want to move to China.

One big correction needed. Matheson is not defending his seat in the 2nd district. He's not the incumbant for the 4th district since it is a new district. Matheson may be a sitting congressman, but he's not an incumbant and shouldn't be treated as one from the 4th district. Mia will kick his behind.

@Heater: Mistakes will be made when the reporters are under a too-tight schedule of deadlines. Mrs. Love's political run in district 4 is a very interesting one, however. I'd be happier if it could be more about compentency than about pleasing those extremist voters that seem to demand that both minimum wage and Social Security be stripped. It's almost worse than the 'dirty laundry' tactics that political elections often entail otherwise.

Fisrt African American Republican in Congress? That would be news to first term Florida Congressman Allen West. But even Congressman West isn't the first in Florida. That would be Josiah T. Walls who left office in 1876 at the end of Reconstruction. Perhaps the reporter meant First African American WOMAN? Shoddy reportage. A Google search would've helped Ms. Riley Roche as simple mistakes like this slowly erodes credibility.

    Counter Intelligence --

Mia Love is always clear in saying she is "black" or of Haitian descent.

Everyone likes to say how Matheson is such a great representative for Utah. Most people in Utah share the same core values in Rep Matheson, but most people do not share the same values as Nancy Pelosi. EVERY VOTE FOR MATHESON IS A VOTE FOR PELOSI.

I think Mia is exactly what this Country needs. Honesty, integrity, LOVE : ), faith, wisdom, and amazing strength. I've visited her website and studied the issues. I was so very disappointed when I found out that I live in District 3!!!! And District 4 stretches into more leftist lands, so Matheson, the Obama man, has a lot of support there. Please help save our Country and tell everyone about Mia. We can't have another Democrat in office, especially when it would mean losing Mia's voice.
