You seem to be using the logic people use to say Mormons aren't christian. You completely overlook the whole believing in Jesus as Savior thing and go after something else. Plus you're completely assuming Obama believes things you say he does another thing typically lobbed at Mormons.

C'mon, OlpuebloguyInWyo. Judging someone for things some leaders associated with his religious practice have said is not the way to go. One could easily and similarly show what Mitt Romney "actually believes" by taking quotes from Brigham Young and Bruce R. McConkie about black people, and then say that him saying anything contrary to those statements is "pandering for voters." I appreciate the President's sentiments, pandering or not.

This is what he learned for 20 years+ and actually believes in my opinion:

"Black theology is not bound to biblical liberalism, but is of a more pragmatic nature. Only the experience of black oppression is the authoritative standard."

"A white man who is in power cannot be a Christian, unless he gives up that power and give it to the black man" - James Cone on Black Theology (Founder).

"The church is the focus of social expression in the black community where the Black church can express freedom and equality. Thus the church and politics have formed a cohesion where the theological expression of the desire for social freedom is carried out."

"Social justice is based on the concepts of human rights and equality and involves a greater degree of economic egalitarianism through progressive taxation, income redistribution, or even property redistribution. These policies aim to achieve what developmental economists refer to as more equality of opportunity than may currently exist in some societies, and to manufacture equality of outcome in cases where incidental inequalities appear in a procedurally just system.

    He is pandering for votes!

I appreciate President Obama's Christian faith and family values.
