The timing of this report is telling, and is obviously meant to draw attention from last week's revelation that Shell had produced 1,700 barrels of oil from oil shale. That's 1,700 more barrels of oil than has yet been produced from "clean energy".

One of these days environmentalists will finally realize that all of their opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline, and drilling on-shore and off-shore only makes producing oil from oil shale that much more viable.

While I'm not enthusiastic about oil shale, I do think this difficult problem is worth pursuing if it will mean finding a good, environmentally sound way to use this resource.

The problem in the past has been the rush to get it done. Cutting corners won't help anyone.

How about getting a study from an unbiased group? This group's conclusion was foregone; therefore, this is not a scientific report but a political one.
