@sammyg nice try. lmu byu or san fran would have no chance at even being in the top of the pac. that was a hilarious joke tho.

As beat up as they are, I don't see how a one and done in the NCAA tournament will do much. Too bad. They were a pretty good team.

    Dear Otis,

One thing is for sure... the top 4 WCC programs can dance circles around most teams in the PAC 10.2

I bet you Ute fans are ready to stick a fork in your program. It's 'well done'.

Of course BYU will make it to the Tourny. People forget that the WCC is the best athletic conference in the nation. The WCC will be sending 7-8 teams to the big dance.

"If you believe it was Arizona and Oregon's idea to play at ESA..."

Are you trying to split a hair here? While you are probably technically correct about this you are also more wrong than right. When trying to schedule those school's both were too cowardly to play in the Marriott Center, where BYU seldom loses. Of course being a utah "fan" you know that as your team never wins there.

Since they wouldn't play at the MC, too cowardly remember, BYU suggested 50 miles away in the ESA. So you are correct, it wasn't their idea, but they also wouldn't play in Provo so that is how they got it done.

But what is your point on this? You try to make it sound as if BYU pulled some fast one on them by tricking them into playing at the ESA. Keep in mind BYU agreed to play on both of their home courts in exchange for them going to ESA.

The truth is you don't have any point. You're just engaging in typical utah "fan" bitterness and jealousy.

    NKAWTG -

If you believe it was Arizona and Oregon's idea to play at ESA ... well, I have a 1995 Honda Accord that may as well be brand new and I'd like to sell it to you. It only has 225,000 miles on it and just a few clinks and clanks here and there. But honestly, this thing will probably go another 300,000 miles.
    Call me.

TheSportsAuthority, I'd be more impressed with Coach Rose this year if the team didn't keep jacking up shots they couldn't hit.

Coach Rose has done another great job considering he had to replace Jimmer and Jackson with a bunch of Freshmen, had to constantly juggle his lineup because of injuries to key players Rogers, Carlino, and Hartsock, plus adjusting to the rhythm of playing in a new conference and some tough OOC opponents. Just being in contention for an at large bid after finishing 3rd in the WCC is a testament to Rose's coaching.

Love the Sports Illustrated article. Talking about the Pac-12, "Locks: none. Should be in: none." Made me laugh.

Motorbike, that "neutral site" game is because Oregon was too scared to come to Provo. Same reason Ariz played in ESA. Next year BYU will be playing at Ore on their home floor.
It will be interesting to see what happens this week. I hope they make it in, but either way it was a great year for such a young team. The experience all the freshman gained this year will certainly help. Next year we get Haws back from a mission, and with Davies still around along with a hopefully healthy Collinsworth and Rogers, we should be even better.

They'll make it in, and they'll be able to thank the Pac 12 to a large degree for having their worst year in a very long time - if not ever.
In a typical season the Pac 12 invitees would have squeezed this years WCC invitees to no more than two.
Interesting as well that BYU's "neutral site" win over Oregon may just be the win that gets them in the tourney. BYU has been very clever to schedule these "neutral site" games at the Delta Center against good opponents in recent years. They are virtually home games that benefit your RPI more like a road game. Smart scheduling for sure ... makes me wonder what would've happened if that neutral game was played in Oregon though.

Surely there will be one or two teams who miraculously win their conference tournament, thus getting the automatic ticket to the dance, and do not otherwise deserve to be invited because of their season record and performance. Such a scenario would push out bubble teams. I would probably prefer to have this year's BYU team in the NIT with a game or two in Provo that I could attend instead of see them perform in the NCAA as they have the past month. Either way they are in the post season.
