I have never commented on anything before but as ketchup is a running joke among my circle of friends (or rather my fondness for it to use a non-humiliating word) I have to say I absolutely loved this piece. Some people like looking at photos while others consider it beyond painful. I fall into the first category and the same is true of hearing or reading first hand recollections, especially those from decades I wasn't alive for. Ms. DeBlasios writing is fresh and natural... she draws the reader in immediately and leaves you wishing for anotehr part to the story.
I hope this is the first of many and while I am of course sorry to hear of her brothers passing I'm sure he is smiling down on her. We should all be so lucky to be remembered with such caring, affection and humor.
    Well done.

As a big ketchup user myself, this article caught my eye and then realized that it is written by a person who writes articles for the Studio City (CA) Patch ( a local publication). Her writing style there and as evidenced in this piece is always enjoyable. As I said, being a ketchup lover I certainly identified with Frank. Although done a little tongue in cheek, it is obvious how very special Frank was to his sister.
