Today we might know just what the GOP dominated Senate has in store for America.

I am quite afraid that many in the country will lose their government supported healthcare, all in the name of giving tax breaks to the already obscenely wealthy.

Welcome to the new world of oligarchy America! We (the already rich) are so winning! We (the 1%) are going to get so tired of winning! This is yuuuuuge for us suffering multi-millionaires.

If the CBO report comes back with fewer people covered and more expenses, I'd say this push should be shelved and they should focus on fixing Obamacare.

They need to focus on lowering the costs, but that requires sacrifice for highly paid doctors, insurers, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers. And because they "donate" so generously to our congress it's unlikely that will happen.

The Epipen costs $100 in Canada and $600 in the United States.
The Insulin drug Lantus costs $67 in Canada and $372 in the United States

It goes ON and ON. It's all because Canada regulates the industry to prevent price gouging. Americans are getting played.

I don't know why they are complaining, it is not the plan that they will be mandated to buy. I guess they want it to look like "their hands are tied and they gave us the best plan that was within their power".

Since the deductibles will be so high it is probably best for the govt to get out of the health insurance mandating business and let market forces adjust costs. Providers will find that people cannot pay what they are charging and they will be forced to provide affordable alternatives or just cater to the wealthy, which is a much smaller number.

Those that cannot afford insurance, or choose not to buy, will start to practice true healthcare; Because maintaining health is the only sure way to avoid the high costs.

I am surprised at the Republicans, the supposed party of business. The ACA is forced capitalism, Americans literally having to buy a product from a private business. The Republicans are adding confusion and doubt to the market place, causing insurers to withdraw. Their plan will cut insurance for millions, meaning insurance companies will lose millions of clients.

Ultimately, the Republicans will push all insurance out of health care, as single payer swoops in to fill the void. The right thing for America, of course. I am just surprised that the Republicans will bring us the gift of single payer.

"The GOP plan is still being written and is a work in progress and will be plenty transparent before the Senate votes for it!"

This is an article about GOP senators complaining about how non-transparent the process has been...

Republicans ALL promised for 8 YEARS to repeal and replace - failed.
Trump promised night and day healthcare for ALL, better, and cheaper - failed.

America needs to remember this next year.

Utah Trout: Don't you ever watch the news about all the healthcare insurers that are pulling out of Obamacare? Aetna, America's largest healthcare insurer, being just the latest? There are some states (Kentucky for example) where there are no more insurers left in most of the state! What are those people supposed to do?
Do you ever talk to your neighbors about what has happened to their insurance deductibles and premiums since Obamacare? Do you ever wonder why all this is happening? Nothing is free! If the government gives free/subsided healthcare to one group of citizens, who do you think will be forced to pay for it?
The GOP plan is still being written and is a work in progress and will be plenty transparent before the Senate votes for it! One thing you can take to the bank, no matter what the plan is, ignorant demos will deride it! I still say, let the Dems fix Obamacare, its their mess! The only way is massive taxpayer bailouts every year for the rest of time!

The Republicans will now own the health care mess. Let's hope that voters remember it well when the next election comes around.

"Obamacare has creating millions of formerly insured Americans! "

We currently have our lowest percentages of people who are uninsured ever in this country.

Trump said and I quote: healthcare plan is on its way. Will have much lower premiums & deductibles while at the same time taking care of pre-existing conditions!

Nope none of that, but hey when 75% of what you say is false, only people who enjoy being lied to will continue to defend your nonsense with more nonsense. If your president is just going to make things up then so can his surrogates, right?

They're hoping for another Trump distraction to vote their evil plan into law.

Do you like seeing jars on the counter with sick children and dying people beggging you to help save them? Then your going to love Trump/GOP Care.

"If you have Obamacare but can't afford the triple digit premium increases, the out of reach deductibles or can not find any insurer left who will even give you Obamacare insurance coverage, do you REALLY have healthcare insurance? Obamacare has creating millions of formerly insured Americans! Let Democrats fix their mess, they created it!"

Sorry, but what is your source for the Obamacare creating millions of formerly insured Americans? Do you really feel justified by your hatred for President Barack Obama to the point that you can just outright lie?

Do you have any problem with the GOP creating a bill in secret? Is this another "we have to vote for it to see what is in it" type of bill?

If anything you should be ashamed that the GOP senate would pull such a tactic with such an important piece of legislation. Lets have some transparency and debate - what are they scared of?

Oh this is going to be entertaining. At the end of the day, their last, strongest pitch for unity will be more about overturning Obamacare and cutting taxes versus doing what's right for their constituents.
