Secretary of State Tillerson had planned to skip a critical meeting of NATO ministers in order to stay in the U.S. for a visit with the Chinese president and right after, planned to go to Moscow. I guess this is in keeping with Trump's priorities of keeping Russia happy while dissing NATO and insulting our NATO allies. Fortunately, the head of NATO says the date of its meeting will change to accommodate Tillerson's schedule....maybe NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg can educate Tillerson on the meaning of the word "alliance."

This news is very disturbing. I predict many apples to fall once you start shaking this tree.

Even more disturbing is the people claiming the story is fake and that the AP has an agenda. At what point do they realize they are on a sinking ship?

    Country before party!

Over 40 fake news stories from the media. Something 10 years ago lobbying for Russia is news? Guess he was the only lobbyist Russia ever hired. So no surveillance on Trump. Baloney. So what was the impact on the election? Nothing.

This is like reading a Tom Clancy/Austin Powers spy novel. The characters are blatantly corrupt and evil where the bad guys take from the poor and give to the rich.
I can hardly wait for the next chapter.

What is really irritating is Director Comey brings up Mrs Clinton several times, one before the DNC Convention and prior to the election . However, he never mentions Mr Trump and his follower's close associations and connections to our largest enemy of 70 years.

Mr. Trumps deriding of our government and personnel, including our military for 2 years is immoral while praising Putin multiple times.

"Manafort had plan to benefit Putin government"

So? What is that significant? It certainly has nothing to do with the Trump campaign, or does it?

According to the Presidential Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Manafort had only a "limited role" in the campaign.

Of course, Manafort was the CHAIRMAN of the Trump campaign, but that apparently had NOTHING to do with the actual campaign.

Donald Trump himself also had a limited role in his campaign. AND he has a limited role in the Oval Office as well.

In other words, when a member of the Trump administration does something criminal or stupid, it's not their fault.

And Chris Stewart is concerned about getting to the bottom of the White House leaks. Really, I will go with transparency over secret communications and hidden agreements anytime.

This President praised Putin a known foe of our country and system.

This President as a candidate spoke with contempt against the dedicated intelligence men and women in our government and military.

This type of communication is abhorrent in his many forms of using the media for his purposes. He is not a good coach for our team as Commander-in-Chief. His military commanders must have a definite fear as he tweets everything for his gain and not the country.

Mr Manafort was the Campaign Chairman for the crucial time for 5 months leading to the nomination at the convention. That far from the low key adviser the President says through Sean Spicer.

If the FBI Director stated the campaign investigation started in July, Mr Manafort definitely was in charge and was pounding his chest with Mr Candidate Trump. Mr. Trump made money from Mr Manafort buying at least one property.

Money exchanged is good for tracking and investigating Mr Manafort's and the President's business deals and transactions.

Where are Mr Woodward and Mr Bernstein? Where is Waldo?

On Monday we learned from the FBI chief that the Trump campaign has been under investigation since last July. I am 99% sure Paul Manafort is one of the targets of that investigation.

Now the AP tells us that Paul Manafort has been under investigation for Russian coziness for years. It looks like the FBI, the AP, and who knows else are in a race to get to the truth, while the investigated parties are manuevering behind smoke screens billowing from the White House.

Mr. President, if you don't want your phone calls monitored, don't talk to Paul Manafort.
    Oops, too late.

The Nixon Defense: What He Knew and When He Knew It

Donald J. Trump is skating the thin ice of treason!

If you are hiking in one of the many canyons of Utah, and you smell smoke then you take actions as if there is a fire.

The people of the U.S. including people who routinely vote for the GOP need to take notice. There is way too much smoke surrounding the Trump campaign team, and even members of his current administration.

Why does Steve Bannon want to "destroy the State"? These folks appear to be ready to dismantle our influence around the world to the benefit of leaders like Putin. If you loved Ronald Reagan then how can you possibly stand for what is going on today?

    at long last

Are you serious? Just how much smoke do you need before you call out "Fire!"

Manafort was undoubtedly on the Russian payroll. Manafort was undoubtedly in charge of the Trump campaign for 5 months last year, and undoubtedly has connections to the President and his cronies/family. Something is rotten indeed.

This is not fake news. This is real stuff that should alarm every American. We are in real trouble with the Trump administration and the Republicans are asking for the rest of us to believe all this is "fake news". "Fake news" is the claim by Trump that Obama was not an American by birth, or that Obama wiretapped him. That is fake, it is repudiated and it was harmful to the Presidency.

    @at long last

Actually, the "fake news" tag is becoming a cue to the rest of America to listen up and take notice.

How many "fake news" stories with Trump have turned out to be true?

    -Flynn
    -Sessions
    -FBI investigation
-Too many "fake news leaks" to remember...

Another AP story where it is difficult to determine whether it is "fake news" or merely irrelevant news. A major PR arm of the Democrat party needs to try harder, in order to persuade the citizenry.

Manafort executed a plan to benefit the Putin government when the single change the Trump team fought for in the GOP platform was weakening support for Ukraine.

Trump is currently executing a plan to benefit the Putin government by gutting the State Department and making warm gestures to Russia while giving NATO the cold shoulder.
